Hello all,
I am having an extremely frustrating problem with this BSoD, that began occurring yesterday. After waking the computer from sleep, it would blue screen with the DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE string, error code 0x0000009f. It doesn't happen immediately after waking, it usually takes a few minutes.
I have now also noticed something which is surely related: 1) cold boot, 2) sleep, 3) wake, and before any blue screen gets the chance to occur, 4) sleep again. When I try (4), that is, putting the computer to sleep for the second time since boot, the screen will fade to blank as it's supposed to, but instead of going to sleep it will restart. Then after I log in again, I see via BlueScreenView that it had actually crashed/blue screened again while the monitor was blank, with the same error string and code. It points to the hal.dll driver.
Two days ago I removed an internal hard drive, one that I had been using purely for storage, and I don't have anything installed that depended on that drive. In my motherboard's BIOS I have the boot order set correctly.
Can anyone please help me out with this issue. I built this computer over a month ago and it has never had any problems until now.
Here is a link to the last minidump file, sorry I don't know how to view its contents: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zz7w7fbaxgadjoq/060314-7156-01.dmp
