Hi guys,

first post here. But I've been a long time browser for various solutions.

I have an issue with my Lenovo Ideapad Y500 (Win 8.1). I recently upgraded to an SSD, and every time the computer wakes from sleep I get a BSOD saying either "CRITICAL PROCESS DIED" or "KERNAL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR".

It was a brand new SSD. I have updated the firmware to the most recent version, but this didn't solve it. I have changed the Nvidia drivers on multiple occasions.

I am at a loss as to what to try next.

Attached is the dump file (zip), a small dmp.txt from BlueScreenView, and my Speccy report:

Please provide this information so we can provide a complete analysis (from the Pinned Topic at the top of the forum): http://www.eightforums.com/bsod-cra...e-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html Please use Option 1 as it provides Event Viewer logs.

The lone dump file that was uploaded points to dxgkrnl.sys (the DirectX Graphics Kernel).
This was a STOP 0x7A error. More info on that here: BSOD Index
Please note the "Usual Causes" section:
Usual causes: Memory, Paging file corruption, File system, Hard drive, Cabling, Virus infection, Improperly seated cards, BIOS, Bad motherboard, Missing Service Pack
This can be either a hardware problem or a software problem.

Please start by running these free hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics
Please let us know the results of the test(s).
Please note that the memory dump shows an error with the disk hardware (highlighted in RED in the Analysis below). Please run the hard drive diagnostics first.

Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions).
Please un-install the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): New link (15 Aug 2012): DuplexSecure - Downloads (pick the appropriate version for your system and select "Un-install" when you run it).
Alternate link: Disk-Tools.com
Manual procedure here: Registry and SPTD problems | DAEMON Pro Help

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Don't worry if you can't find an update for this one - just let us know:

Sonic CD/DVD driver (used by many different CD/DVD programs)
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=PxHlpa64.sys

Please note the drivers below that date from before the release of Windows 8.1 (17 Oct 2013) - check to see that each and every one is compatible w/Windows 8.1 (at the manufacturer's website). If not, you must either remove the device and it's software - or locate a Windows 8.1 compatible update on the web. Removing some drivers may make the system unstable - so if you're unable to find updates, post back for info on the one's that can/cannot be safely removed.

If all of this doesn't stop the BSOD's, please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings
