Occasional BSoD, may be related to partitioning?

Hi, I deleted my hibernation partition and have been having occasional troubles when restarting and turning off my laptop. Also, blue screen of death errors such as NTFS-FILE-SYSTEM and MEMORY-MANAGEMENT are regularly restarting my laptop.
Chkdsk says it found errors but could not fix them.
Windows Defender assures me I am virus free.
Is this due at all to my partition deletion?
Thanks for any and all help.

Any partition unused can be deleted and should not cause any BSOD. What I think is your HD is corrupted and you should run chkdsk to remedy the problem and since it is on the Windows Partition, you must run it offline. Depending on how bad it is corrupted, it will take a while to complete. Before you run chkdsk, Please open the elevated command prompt:
  1. Win+X->Command Prompt (Admin)
  2. Type: chkntfs /T:10 to increase the chkdsk countdown time to 10 seconds instead of the default 1 sec. This will allow you to bypass chkdsk if you wish. 1 sec is too short.
  3. Type: chkdsk C: /R <======== Will take a while to complete, sometimes hours...
  4. Next, Run: dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
  5. Then Run: sfc /scannow

There is no such thing as Hibernation Partition, there is a hidden file called hiberfil.sys sitting under C:\. If you turn off hibernation, this file will be deleted by Windows.

Did you delete the a "partition" or just the hiberfile.sys file? If it was a partition, what one was it and why did you delete it?

Thanks.
I ran the chkdsk C: /R which returned 0 issues.
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth reported an error: 87, where ceanup-image option is unknown.

I moved hibernation to its own partition then deleted that partition in order to allow for rapid start, as per an internet tutorial.

The sfc /scannow found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. It has details in a CBS log, which this site is saying is invalid for upload.

Windows 8's Fast Startup actually uses the hiberfile.sys file so I'm guessing that's not the rapid start you were after. You can disable hibernation from the command prompt by running powercfg -h off . That will also delete the hiberfile.sys file automatically.
