Hello! I'm totally lost on what to do.. I've tried downloading programs to analyze
and fix common computer problems but I'm at a loss.. I get the:

DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE

and ntoskrnl.exe seems to have something to do with it..
it usually happens when I play a game, and sometimes not even then.

system:
GPU: GTX 770m
CPU: Intel (r) Core(TM) i7-4700MQ CPU @ 2.40GHz
Memory: 12.00gb RAM
Operating system: Windows 8.1

help would be greatly appreciated!
and if more info is needed I would be glad to provide it..

The first 2 are disabled. Is this deliberate? If so, why?

The first device is most likely the Intel Management Engine Interface. It must be enabled, and it must be updated to the latest, Win8.1 compatible version for your system.

The second, third and fourth devices are Bluetooth devices. Bluetooth drivers can still load even if the device is disabled. Please enable the second device. Then, update your Bluetooth device drivers to the latest, Win8.1 compatible version (Bluetooth in 8.1 usually has problems when using the Win8 drivers). Then, if you choose, you can disable all 3 of the Bluetooth devices (after updating them).

FWIW - the BSOD's captured in the WER section of MSINFO32 all blame Bluetooth, so that's the best place to start IMO.

Not long ago there were BSOD problems with the Killer Network Manager software. Please visit the MSI website and download/install the latest available version (I believe that it dates from early in 2014).

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

NTIOLib_X64.sys Thu Oct 25 06:27:58 2012 (5089142E)
MSI Afterburner driver (known BSOD issues with Windows) Also found to be a part of MSI Live Update 5
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=NTIOLib_X64.sys

The memory dumps also tend to blame Bluetooth - so be sure to update to the latest, Win8.1 compatible Bluetooth drivers.

If all of this doesn't stop the BSOD's, please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings

Thank you so much, I'll try this and get back to you..

And yeah you might have guessed it but I did disable them deliberately.. bluetooth because I didn't use it, the other one because I didn't need it. Didn't know that they still ran even though they're disabled..

You need the Intel Management Engine - so please leave it enabled.

Drivers load at boot, and the stuff that disables the devices sometimes loads after that. I've seen drivers loading from disabled devices. It doesn't happen often, but when it does there are usually significant problems to be seen.

I did what you said and it looks like all the devices are working properly now! I made sure to pick the 8.1 version for everything.. gonna do some testing now and see how it goes! :)

Hi usasma,

You said that sometimes the calls are made to the drivers even if the devices are disabled. What causes this and how to resolve such issues? I thought that disabling the device would not invoke the driver call :|

Does disabling the driver components completely also require registry editing?

My experience with this comes from an episode with a disabled device whose driver was found (repeatedly) in the memory dumps that I was analyzing. To the best of my recollection, this was several years ago - and I can't recall exactly which device it was (I think it was a network driver).

Check this link: Enable or Disable a Plug and Play Device
It states that:
When you disable a device, the physical device stays connected to your computer, but the device driver is disabled
I am uncertain how it goes about this - but you will note that it says disabled, not unloaded.

Beyond that, we're talking about how other programs/devices attempt to use that driver - and how to do they react when it's found that that driver is disabled? This is way beyond my ability as a BSOD analyst - we'd need to get a driver developer involved in this.
