Help Please..... Lonovo ideacentre A520 all-in-one three days old, came with Windows 8. Updated to Windows 8.1 and after that get BSOD sometimes 5-10 times a day. I updated all drivers, installed all updates from Microsoft, Lonovo and ran sfc/scannow with no errors found.
See attached file for errors. Hope it's the correct one.
Thanks

Hi TimFitz,

Please re run the tool given in the thread above as there are no DUMP files to analyze for us. Do not close the application until it gives a popup message that it has finished.

Thanks for responding this quickly ^_^

Try one more thing, i.e. running the program with Administrative rights and see if it is still throwing the same kind of error.

Try navigating to this directory and see if you find any DUMP files :- "Windows/Minidump/" . This should be under your local disk where the OS is installed.

Once, you find the DUMP files, copy and paste them inside a ZIP file and upload them here.

If you are still not able to find the DUMP files then please make sure that Windows is configured to create Minidump files in case of BSOD's. Please follow this guide for enabling the DUMP file generation during a BSOD.

I made sure the pc was set to create dump files, but it still doesn't. The only thing it reports is "critical error event 41", I believe that is because I have to manually shut down the system because windows says it's gathering information and will shut down automatically, but never does. So I have to do it manually. Here is a screen shot.

Did you check the Minidump folder as well for the DUMP files?

Also, you might follow up with Usasma's advice and send the laptop for RMA because I don't think we can do anything without a dump file :(

A couple of things to check before returning it:

Only 29 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 60 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

You have this device: Realtek RTL8188CUS Wireless LAN 802.11n USB Slim Solo
I do not recommend using wireless USB network devices. Especially in Win8/8.1 systems.
These wireless USB devices have many issues with Win7 and later - using Vista drivers with them is almost sure to cause a BSOD.
Should you want to keep using these devices, be sure to have Win8/8.1 drivers - DO NOT use Vista drivers!!!
An installable wireless PCI/PCIe card that's plugged into your motherboard is much more robust, reliable, and powerful.
As it appears that you're not using it, please uninstall it's software and then physically remove it from the system.

This device has problems in Device Manager:
Realtek PCIE CardReader PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5229&SUBSYS_366017AA&REV_01\4&2B38F073&0&00E2 39
Code 39 is telling us that Windows can't load the drivers. Please uninstall the software for the device and then ensure that it's removed from Device Manager. Then download and install the latest drivers from the Lenovo website. See if that fixes the error.

While you're at the Lenovo website, update any other drivers that haven't been updated for 8.1. In particular I am concerned about the Bluetooth drivers (as they sometimes have problems when using Win8 drivers on Win8.1 systems).

Good luck!

Well after all this time the issue isn't fixed.
Lenovo sent a new Hard drive (with repair disks) the pc didn't recognize the Hard drive. Then they sent a technician to replace the mother board. He left and the pc couldn't find the HD. They sent new recovery disks which would not work. So they are sending a technician with another new motherboard& HD. So,still no pc.
I have requested the PC be replaced which they refuse to do because there are a few things that haven't replaced yet.
I am so pissed I could scream. I have been repairing computers for 25 years and I know a piece of junk when I see one.

Ask them if they have a "no-lemon" policy
I've seen some places that will replace your system after 3 qualifying repairs for the same problem.
