Solved BSOD After Every Update Try, Have to Restore Everytime

I apologize if I don't post this correctly, but I need help. I have been getting the BSOD every time I try to update my computer. The updates that I am trying to apply are mandatory updates, so this happens every week when my computer requires me to update.

The updates being applied are 3

Security for IE, KB 2964444
Security Update for Windows x64 based systems, KB2964757
Update Windows 8.1 for x64 based systems, KB2919355

I have attached the SF file.

There are no memory dumps in the uploaded reports. Please do the following:
Upload Dump Files:
NOTE: If using a disk cleaning utility, please stop using it while we are troubleshooting your issues.
Please go to C:\Windows\Minidump and zip up the contents of the folder. Then upload/attach the .zip file with your next post.
Left click on the first minidump file.
Hold down the "Shift" key and left click on the last minidump file.
Right click on the blue highlighted area and select "Send to"
Select "Compressed (zipped) folder" and note where the folder is saved.
Upload that .zip file with your next post.

If you have issues with "Access Denied" errors, try copying the files to your desktop and zipping them up from there. If it still won't let you zip them up, post back for further advice.

If you don't have anything in that folder, please check in C:\Windows for a file named MEMORY.DMP. If you find it, zip it up and upload it to a free file hosting service. Then post the link to it in your topic so that we can download it.

Also, search your entire hard drive for files ending in .dmp, .mdmp, and .hdmp. Zip up any that you find and upload them with your next post.

Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions).
Please un-install the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): New link (15 Aug 2012): DuplexSecure - Downloads (pick the appropriate version for your system and select "Un-install" when you run it).

Some HP systems have new UEFI/BIOS updates available. Please check using the HP Support Assistant to see if there are any available for your system.

There is no evidence of BSOD's in the System logfile. Did you see the Blue Screen with the frowny face?
Please do the following:
- open Event Viewer (run eventvwr.msc from the "Run" dialog))
- expand the Custom Views category (left click on the > next to the words "Custom Views")
- right click on Administrative Events
- select "Save all Events in Custom View as..."
- save the file as Admin.evtx
- zip up the file (right click on it, select "Send to", select "Compressed (zipped) folder")
- upload it with your next post (if it's too big, then upload it to a free file-hosting service and post a link here).

    I'm nearly deaf, so this isn't used often

    Touchscreen on laptop/32" Toshiba on HDMI (laid the Sharp TV on a mouse and cracked the screen!)

    800x600
    Hard Drives
    One Samsung 1tB drive - 5400 rpm. Gonna switch to a 7200/10000 rpm or an SSD (if I can find $500 for a 1tB SSD!)
    - Switched to 500 gB Samsung 840 series SSD - WOW!!!

    Why do we ask this for laptops?

It is the BSOD with a frowny face. I have checked HP Assistant and there are no updates available for me. I have uninstalled Daemon Tools and tried to update again, but the same problem persists.

When I entered the event viewer and clicked on Administrative Events, I received this error

Log: Microsoft-Windows-DxpTaskRingtone/Analytic Error: The System cannot find the file specified.

When I try to save all the events in custom view, I receive the error "The system cannot find the file specified. It will not let me save it.

No need to restart the Windows Event Log service, just reboot the system.

Here's the text of the above post (credit to 0091/2):
Open regedit: press Win+r and input regedit

Navigate to:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WINEVT\Channels]

Delete "Microsoft-Windows-DxpTaskRingtone/Analytic"
Back it up just in case something goes wrong.

Open Local Services. Go search settings if you don't know where that is. You need to restart "Windows Event Log".

I actually didn't notice the DuplexSecure download in your first post. I downloaded it and uninstalled the sptd driver. I updated and it finally worked! Thanks so much, this really helps me!
