Hello,

I had a Dpc_watchdog_violation bsod today. It was completely out of nowhere after a month of using my new pc without any problem. I was just downloading something from steam and watching Game of Thrones from my NTB hard drive via lan. If you can help me diagnose what caused it, I would be grateful :)

One lone BSOD isn't generally cause for concern - and often they fix themselves.
But let's have a look at it "just in case" :0)

Only 27 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 56-60 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all). This is just an estimate, the thing that counts is the visit to Windows Update.

Please install the drivers for this device:
PCI Simple Communications Controller PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C3A&SUBSYS_85341043&REV_04\3&11583659&0&B0 The drivers for this device are not installed.
This is most likely the Intel Management Engine driver - available from the PC manufacturer's support website. If not there, post back and we'll find it elsewhere.

MSI Afterburner (along with Riva Tuner and EVGA Precision) are known to cause BSOD's in some Windows systems (it's driver is usually RTCore64.sys). Please un-install them immediately!

If you're overclocking, please stop the overclock while we're troubleshooting. Feel free to resume the overclock once the system has been stabilized.

Please uninstall the Asus AI Booster software - it's drivers (AsInsHelp64.sys) date from 2008

Open Hardware Monitor (OpenHardwareMonitor.sys) is beta software that was last updated in July of 2013. Please uninstall it.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Logitech Gamepanel Virtual HID Device Driver
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=LGVirHid.sys

Please note the drivers below that date from before the release of Windows 8.1 (17 Oct 2013) - check to see that each and every one is compatible w/Windows 8.1 (at the manufacturer's website). If not, you must either remove the device and it's software - or locate a Windows 8.1 compatible update on the web. Removing some drivers may make the system unstable - so if you're unable to find updates, post back for info on the one's that can/cannot be safely removed.
