Hi guys,

Im being plagued by BSOD at the moment and it couldnt come at a worse time!

I'm currently finalising a film for University and therefore using the full power of my 4770k 3.5Ghz 16Gb machine with programs such as After Effects and Premiere.

I run a few tests but am unable to nail it down in my head and was wondering if you could help. I was starting to think it was a RAM issue, but the minidump says different.

Any help would be appreciated! Many thanks :)

Bug check description: This indicates that Microsoft Windows or a kernel-mode driver accessed paged memory at DISPATCH_LEVEL or above.
This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem.
The crash took place in the Windows kernel. Possibly this problem is caused by another driver that cannot be identified at this time.

There's only 1 memory dump in the uploaded reports. Please check C:\Windows\Minidump for more. If found, please zip them up and upload them with your next post. You may have to copy them to the Desktop in order to zip them up.

I noticed that you don't have Secure Boot and/or UEFI enabled. If you were having problems with it and changed it, please let us know.
It's not necessary to enable it now. But, should you reinstall Windows at some point in the future, please enable it first.

I mention this because it may happen that (one day) the system won't boot. This can be caused by a program changing your UEFI settings, or an update of the UEFI resetting it to default values.

To test and see if this is the cause, boot into the UEFI and see if the settings have been changed. If uncertain, try with Secure Boot both on and off (and the UEFI on UEFI or Legacy (CSM))

If it still doesn't boot after trying this, then move on to other troubleshooting tools as it's not likely to be due to this.

D: and F: drives only have about 3% free space. Windows likes 15% free space in order to perform stuff "behind the scenes" without adversely affecting the system's performance. Please free up 15% on ALL hard drives (you can get away with 10% on larger drives and won't notice a large performance penalty)

You have 5 hard drives. What is the make/model/wattage and age of your Power Supply?

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Please note the drivers below that date from before the release of Windows 8.1 (17 Oct 2013) - check to see that each and every one is compatible w/Windows 8.1 (at the manufacturer's website). If not, you must either remove the device and it's software - or locate a Windows 8.1 compatible update on the web. Removing some drivers may make the system unstable - so if you're unable to find updates, post back for info on the one's that can/cannot be safely removed.

If all of this doesn't stop the BSOD's, please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings

It seems as though taking out and updating those drivers and freeing space up on the HDD's has worked - So many thanks! :D

I have a question however, what is the Secure Boot and/or UEFI that you talk about? I have A UEFI Bios and it is set up that way - It is an old version of the Bios however... Will having this disabled effect my machine at all? How does it help the machine? Is there anyway to enable it without flattening the machine?

Again, many thanks!

Secure Boot and UEFI are recent features that replaced the BIOS on motherboards. They are more protective of your system, and are better able to boot with Win8 and above systems.

Don't mess with it now - doing so may render your system unbootable.

If you ever decide to reinstall Windows, then is the time to enable it (just before installing Windows 8 or above)
