BSOD Inpage Kernel Data Error - New HP laptop

English is not my native language, so bare with me.

My laptop has 4 months old. Envy dv6 1TB, i7, 12 Gb Ram.

I was doing normal work, and i left my laptop downloading a torrent. Laptop not connected to power, so only running on the battery on High Performance Profile. I had lunch , that took me around 40 minutes, and when i came back the screen was off ( which is normal) I moved the mouse, I was preparing to login and suddenly the screen just turned all blue with big letters telling me INPAGE KERNEL DATA ERROR and that the memory or something was going to be downloaded and then the laptop would be restarted. Then a percentage number started to increase 20%,30%, 60% 100% and laptop restarted.

This is the first time i see this error.

So I attach the required file and wait if someone can help me. I hope is nothing hardware related.

Hi There Ecium & Welcome to the forums,

I have analyzed your DUMP file and the DUMP file is pointing as below :-

KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR (7a)The requested page of kernel data could not be read in. Typically caused by
a bad block in the paging file or disk controller error. Also see
If the error status is 0xC000000E, 0xC000009C, 0xC000009D or 0xC0000185,
it means the disk subsystem has experienced a failure.
If the error status is 0xC000009A, then it means the request failed because
a filesystem failed to make forward progress.
Arg1: fffff6e0008b6f78, lock type that was held (value 1,2,3, or PTE address)
Arg2: ffffffffc000009c, error status (normally i/o status code)
Arg3: 00000002f8e26880, current process (virtual address for lock type 3, or PTE)
Arg4: ffffc00116def378, virtual address that could not be in-paged (or PTE contents if arg1 is a PTE address)

    Debugging Details:

    Insufficient Dumpfile Size
    Kernel Generated Triage Dump

DISK_HARDWARE_ERROR: There was error with disk hardware

    BUGCHECK_STR: 0x7a_c000009c
which means that there was a bad sector on the Hard Disk which was encountered by the Operating System. According to the MS docs ,
An I/O status code of 0xC000009C or 0xC000016A typically indicates that the data could not be read from the disk because of a bad block (sector). If you can restart the computer after the error, Autochk runs automatically and attempts to map the bad sector to prevent it from being used anymore.
If Autochk does not scan the hard disk for errors, you can manually start the disk scanner. Run Chkdsk /f /r on the system partition. You must restart the computer before the disk scan begins. If you cannot start the computer because of the error, use the Recovery Console and run Chkdsk /r.

But before we can be sure that the DUMP file is pointing towards the right error, please update the below given storage drivers ASAP.
    sisraid2.sys - Dating 2008 year -
    sisraid4.sys - Dating 2008 year -
wdcsam.sys - Dating 2008 year and this driver version is known for Windows BSOD so please update this ASAP :- WD Support / Downloads / Select Product
    iastorv.sys - Dating 2011 :-
    nvraid.sys & nvstor.sys :- Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers
Please update the driver in the RED first and then the others. In case the issue appears again, post back and I will be glad to help you out.

    Thanks blueelvis,
I will try to do my best to do what you say as I HP, Western Dig, and Sis are not very helpfull. For Example HP says I have all the updated drivers (on its online system automatic detection), western digital says its products do not need drivers, and SIS tells about installing its driver under my responsability.

Also I dont see I have any sis device, mmm it is also strange that i have installed a Intel Raid driver and soft, so i dont know what it is happening there. ABout the nvidia driver i think i have the lastest.

Other strange thing is that under the Device Manager I have many "stuff" with drivers from 2006 or 2008 but when i try to do an automatic update it says i have the last drivers.

So it seems that I will have a very long time finding the exact files to update.

Anyway As i said I will try to update everything and then post here the results.

    Thank you.
