BSOD or very slow PC when using ANY backup software

Hi Guys,

This is very weird, and the only times that it happens is when using backup software.

I use Paragon Hard Disk Manager 14, and when running backups of drives the system crashes, with errors to ntoskrnl.exe and ntdll.sys. So I tried a couple of other backup software (Acronis True Image and Easeus ToDo Backup) and still the same thing happens. When using the inbuilt Windows 8.1 Image Backup the computer is very slow, cannot do anything else!

Searched my PC for the two files, no sign of ntdll.sys!

I have attached a screen shot of the ntoskrnl.exe files found.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks.

Hopefully solved my own problem.

I changed a SATA cable to my drive which has the OS, and have run Paragon Backup, and now all seems to be OK.

Hi John,

Thanks for your interest.

I am pretty sure it was the SATA cable. I have run a few images and backups since I replaced the cable and no problems to report.

So hopefully that was the problem.

Thanks again for your interest.
