sometimes it bsod when i game for a few min, sometimes when ive been heavily gaming for 2hrs+. my cousin tried replacing HDD(and OS to windows 7) and power supply, neither worked. I've already done the memtest and cpu stress test and my desktop passed both. I recently upgraded my bios, either didn't work or I already have latest. the only thing I've noticed is it mostly happens on graphic intensive games, and it did bsod a few times while I was downloading diablo 3's 2.0 patch not doing anything else. I originally thought it was just overheat problem because i bought it in august, but then it started bsod-ing frequently again during christmas week

You have a Realtek RTL8191SU Wireless LAN 802.11n USB 2.0 Network Adapter:
I do not recommend using wireless USB network devices. Especially in Win7/Win8/8.1 systems.
These wireless USB devices have many issues with Win7 and later - using Vista drivers with them is almost sure to cause a BSOD.
Should you want to keep using these devices, be sure to have Win7/Win8/8.1 drivers - DO NOT use Vista drivers!!!
An installable wireless PCI/PCIe card that's plugged into your motherboard is much more robust, reliable, and powerful.

Is there any particular reason that you're not using UEFI and Secure Boot?

You have OCCT installed. Have you run the stress tests with it? If so, what were the results?
You have HW Monitor installed, what have your temps been running prior to the crashes?

If you're overclocking, please stop the overclock while we're troubleshooting. Feel free to resume the overclock once the system has been stabilized. i5 and i7 processors can be "auto-overclocked" by using Intel's TurboBoost feature. If so, it's safe to disregard this caution.

The WER section of MSINFO32 shows a lot of BSOD's, with most of them being STOP 0x124's. STOP 0x124's are primarily hardware errors, but can e causd by lower level prolems within the system:
They are usually caused by one of these things:
- borked (broken) hardware (several different procedures used to isolate the problem device)
- BIOS issues (check for updates at the motherboard manufacturer's website)
- overclocking/overheating - You'll know if you're overclocking or not. If uncertain we can suggest things to check.
- compatibility issues (3rd party hardware/drivers)
- low-level driver problems
- or even malware (scanned for when we ask for hardware diagnostics from Initial Hardware Diagnostics or Hardware Diagnostics ).

You can get a head start on the hardware diagnostics if you'd like - they are located here: Hardware Diagnostics

There have been problems with Avast (on the web). I'd suggest removing it and seeing if that stops the errors. Make sure to enable Windows Defender and the Windows Firewall while testing. If it doesn't stop the problem, feel free to install a fresh copy of the latest, Win8.1 compatible version of Avast.

The last 16 memory dumps are all STOP 0x124's - and as they show very few 3rd party drivers in the analysis I'd have to presume that a hardware problems is the most likely issue here. Please run these free hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics If all of these pass, then start the "diagnostics through hardware stripdown" procedures here: Hardware Stripdown Troubleshooting

I tried debugging your Dumps and all pointed to the 0x124 BUGCHECKS. I am not sure till now, but when i ran some more commands, only one core was able to identify itself. The others were said as unrecognized.

Most likely it is a hardware failure but please procede with John's advice before making any decision.

usasma - I don't know how to stress test with OCCT, don't even remember why I have it. I bsod at random times, so I can't monitor my temps prior. I'll uninstall avast once I get back home and reply the result later.

blueelvis - does that mean I have to unlock my other 3 cores? In my BIOS I have an option to "use one core per compute" or something, would that do anything about it?

I have no idea what it means although a bit of googling reveals that it turns off the cores to save power I guess. I will be analyzing your dumps again thoroughly tomorrow. Till then, you could follow this guide on how to stress test your CPU :-

Hi Azninjazn,

Sorry for the late reply, I forgot to visit this thread <_< .

Anyways I have reanalyzed your complete set of DUMP files including the newer ones as well and all point and give the same bugcheck code that is WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR which is generally points to a hardware fault. On further analysis, the Dump files revealed that there may be a DCACHELG_WR_ERR (Proc 0 Bank 4) which means the cache may be corrupt on core 0. You can see the dump file analysis below :-

EDIT :- The post has been edited. Before, I could say that there is a problem in the processor let's make it sure. Could you please follow this post and do the required hardware tests which stress test them so that we could see if there is problem in any hardware or there is some low level driver problem (Thanks usasma! ). Please follow the below guide and report back and we could eliminate some reasons then :-

Hardware Diagnostics

In case the results are positive, then go onto this Hardware Stripdown Troubleshooting

One more thing, I would like to ask is are you overclocking your system by any chance? If yes, then please stop. Furthermore, could you please log into "Safe Mode" and keep the PC running to see if it is still BSODing?

all of the hardware aside CPU has been stressed tested already or replaced so those are all fine. I stress tested the CPU using OCCT, results already posted on this forum, but since it is whats giving me the BSOD I'm try to replace it soon

*edit*
I got a BSOD without either the avast anti-virus and usb adapter installed so definitely gonna replace CPU now.
my CPU is AMD FX-4300 quad-core, any recommendation for a reasonable priced CPU. prefer something from amazon cause I have a giftcard I want to use.

This case is becoming like the same which I had with my HP Pavillion desktop. After adding a NVIDIA 9500gt graphics card and adding more RAM, the computer became extremely unstable which led to me and my dad phoning HP several times and still the issue was not resolved. Finally tired out of it, me and my dad both decided to change the motherboard and several RAM sticks of the whole Desktop for around 150$. At first the problem seem to be solved but after a while again the bsods with different error messages started cropping up. Now what he did was he removed the graphics card and the additional RAM and voila the computer was extremely stable again without any BSOD. Last month when I was home, I again plugged in the GPU and after 2-3 usage there was the BSOD. I consulted with a techy friend of mine as well last time and he suggested me to try and use a new powerful PSU as the PSU which currently there provides only with 250W whereas the minimum of the GPU is 350W. And my desktop also has AMD processor although old. Now, when I ll go back during my summer vacations I will try the PSU solution on my desktop and see what happens.

Furthermore, what I am seeing is that you are using Hyper-V but the support for it has been disabled in the Firmware i.e BIOS. Enable this as well.

So before, buying a new CPU, I would advise you to go to a computer repair shop and see if you could get a new and higher capacity Power Supply Unit temporarily. Also, what is the wattage of your PSU?

Do one thing, try starting the PC with minimal hardware configuration i.e. remove your RAM sticks (Keep only the minimum amount), remove your GPU, remove your external cards such as Network Adapters etc and see if you are still getting the BSODs.

Post back the results.

Without using your external GPU, you would not be able to play the high end games and do graphical calculations. But, your normal browsing, youtube, videos etc will work absolutely fine. On removing the RAM sticks, the computer will become a bit slow but this is to test it out so as to eliminate further causes.

I'm confused, according to google searches removing a GPU from a graphics card is delicate because of its size unless I don't plan on using the graphics card but I just can't remove the graphics card because the desktop wouldn't be able to display anything without it.

Sorry for all the questions, I'm studying Computer Engineer to learn this kind of stuff but apparently none of my classes involve working with actual computer hardware

Don't think too much - and DON'T remove the actual GPU from the card.
If your system doesn't have dual graphics (internal/onboard and an external/discrete card), then you can't remove the graphics card (because you won't be able to see anything!)

As we don't expect people to remove the GPU from the card, we've grown accustomed to referring to the video card as the GPU. It saves a few keystrokes when typing - and we're usually rushing to help, so we need to save as much time as we can.

Good luck!
