Frequent BSODs, Driver_Not_Less_Or_Equal

Hi there,

So I've been doing a lot of searching around about this error, and have discovered that is been caused by MijXfilt.sys. This is the driver that the program Motioninjoy uses to fool the system into thinking my PS3 controller is an xbox 360 controller, hence allowing me to play games with a ps3 controller. Problem is, I really need to use that feature and was the main reason why I bought my new PC. I saw a thread on the motioninjoy forums which an admin said that he fixed the mijxfilt.sys and uploaded a patched one. I replaced that with the one in system and still, exactly the same. Others have reported the same thing. I've also tried reverting to older versions of motioninjoy, still no luck.

Any solution, say a program that does the same thing without BSODing, a actually patched mijxfilt.sys, any solution which allows me to still use my ps3 controller would be fantastic.

Windows 8 Pro
BSODs happen roughly daily, though sometimes more.
SF Diagnostic Tool files attached.

Cheers

Indeed Motioninjoy is the reason behind the crashes.

There is no solution to it in my knowledge. Motioninjoy is poorly coded and it is a known BSOD causer for years. Unless Sony releases an official driver, you are out of luck.

Problem is, I really need to use that feature and was the main reason why I bought my new PC.

Are you serious ???. If you can't cope up with keyboard and mouse, i would suggest buying an XBOX controller which is fully supported by Windows. XBOX controller is not much different from a PS3 one so you will be able to enjoy the comfort of a controller.

(if i were you, i wouldn't bother buying a PC if i can't cope up with keyboard and mouse. There are better alternatives like XBOX One and PS4 which offers Superior graphics ).

Off topic: Don't tell me to buy a next gen console. I'd rather become a hobo then support them. I owned a PS3 for years and was so pissed off by how Sony didn't care for their consumers. Next gen is even worse. $60 a year just to play multiplayer?! No native 1080p in 2014? No multitasking? Crappy servers? 2005 graphics? Hell no. The only thing they do well is their controllers. I love the PS3 controller, it's great. PS4 controller, great. Xbox one controller great. But damn, that huge battery pack on the back of the 360, I cannot use that! My fingers get sore after 10 mins of playing.

And are serious???? Saying Xbox and PS4 graphics are better?! Watch some youtube comparisons son. PC is far superior in that regard.

ON TOPIC:

Does anybody know of any programs that take a PS3 controller and emulate a 360 controller except for motioninjoy?

From the mouth of a man who can't play with keyboard and mouse. You are the most funniest "console" gamer i have ever seen.... I am a PC gamer so i know the difference in graphics quality. I only said about PS4 because you are the die hard controller fan here. Please no hard feelings ......

On topic :

Please have a look at the below video tutorial. I don't know whether it works as i don't play with a controller so i can't test it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=UCtOSa8E_gU

PS3 MotionJoy Alternative (No longer need to activate a driver every log in) :: Big Picture

But before trying out that, you should get rid of MotioninJoy properly.

1. Plug the controller and follow en:help:uninstall [MotioninJoy]

2. Reboot the system in to "Safe Mode" and delete MijXfilt.sys from C:\Windows\System32\Drivers folder. Then use Windows search function to search for the same driver and delete any leftover copies.

Now you can try the new method. Hope it helps.

Mate, I'm not a console gamer. I play on my games on my PERSONAL COMPUTER, not a console, besides, who cares what mouth said PC graphics are better? Better colours, contrast etc and a sharp image looks better than a crappy coloured lump of pixels, any way you look at it.

I don't know why you made that last comment such a post is not productive and useless on a website like this. No point posting just to personally insult someone.

Hi

No hard feelings mate. please recheck the updated reply. I only concerned about solving your BSOD issue. It is not my business whether you play with a controller or keyboard :thumb:.

Thanks man! Solid info, will give it a try and report back.

EDIT - Took a lot of stuffing around before I got it working, but when i did, works flawlessly! Thanks a lot! Fixed all my problem and also improved my gaming experience! (I never really liked Motioninjoy software, this one's much better).

Having no more BSODs is also great whenever Im doing homework because when it BSODs, there goes all your work.

Thanks again
