Hi, i've been getting random BSOD and from Bluescreenview, it says caused by ntoskrnl.exe . I think its caused by a bad/ outdated driver possibly from my video card but im not so sure. Help would be appreciated.

My Computer

System One

  • OS
    Windows 8
Is there any reason why you have not updated to Win8.1 yet? Due to the date of your BIOS, it may not be advisable to update to Win8.1

Only 36 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 160 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

Your BIOS dates from 2008. Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any BIOS updates available for your system. Also check the readme file to see if they apply to the problems that you are having. Please be advised that flashing the BIOS is a very unforgiving process - and one mistake can physically damage your motherboard.

C: drive only has about 2% free space. Windows likes 15% free space in order to perform stuff "behind the scenes" without adversely affecting the system's performance. Please free up 15% on ALL hard drives (you can get away with 10% on larger drives and won't notice a large performance penalty)

These devices have problems in Device Manager:
VirtualBox Host-Only Ethernet Adapter ROOT\NET\0000 This device is disabled.

Microsoft Kernel Debug Network Adapter ROOT\KDNIC\0000 This device is disabled.

Network Controller PCI\VEN_1814&DEV_0201&SUBSYS_00321737&REV_01\4&2CF26B65&0&2820 The drivers for this device are not installed.
The first 2 devices are disabled. Is this deliberate? If so, why?
The last device needs drivers installed, it is most likely a Ralink RT2500 Wireless LAN Card (WiFi) Please install the latest, Win8 compatible drivers for this device. Interestingly, a driver from 2006 is installed, but doesn't relate to this device for some reason. This could be an indicator that there is a hardware problem with the Ralink RT2500 device (and it may need to be replaced)>

Please uninstall CoreTemp temporarily (in order to see if it's causing a problem)

IMO the most significant issue here is the date of the system. I strongly suspect that this system is not compatible with Win8.
BUT, it may be able to operate to your satisfaction if you get ALL Windows updates.
If not, then I'd have to suggest that you revert to Win7 or even Vista.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :
