Random BSOD Video Card disappears after reboot

Hello everyone.

I have attached as requested the archive containing the SF Diagnostic Tool v5 dumps.

I am receiving a huge number of BSOD errors, after each one the nVidia graphics card is nowhere to be found, rebooting the system does not help, in order to bring the nVidia card back I need to shutdown and power on the system, 2 attempts are required, first power on attempt always fails and the system shuts down right after the bios logo.

The video card was recently changed to a brand new one.

Hoping you guys can help me solve this irritating problem.

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

lol that's a new one - never heard of stop errors making a video card not found upon reboot. (I am NOT saying I don't believe you. I am only laughing at the situation itself.)

Ok, let's begin tackling.

Uninstall VMWare:

VMNET VMNET.SYS Thu Jul 18 15:42:50 2013 (51E8453A)
vmnetadapter.sys Thu Jul 18 15:43:00 2013 (51E84544)
vmnetbridge vmnetbridge.sys Thu Jul 18 15:43:47 2013 (51E84573)
vmnetuserif vmnetuserif.sys Fri Oct 18 14:19:38 2013 (52617BBA)
vmx86 vmx86.sys Fri Oct 18 15:34:39 2013 (52618D4F)

Uninstall ST Microelectronics software/driver:

ST_Accel ST_Accel.sys Thu Apr 11 14:21:52 2013 (5166FF40)

Update Realtek card storage driver:

RtsPStor RtsPStor.sys Wed Dec 12 21:44:23 2012 (50C94107)

Update Intel Management Engine (from Intel.com):

HECIx64 HECIx64.sys Mon Dec 17 14:32:21 2012 (50CF7345)

Do a Windows Update and install any drivers it offers. Reboot.

If this file below is still the same modified date, then I would rename it to EMSC.bak and then delete the corresponding key at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services

If this file below has been updated, leave it all be as is.

Embedded System Control driver:
EMSC EMSC.SYS Thu Jul 05 21:56:47 2012 (4FF645DF)

Reboot when done.

Please let us know how it goes after, and if necessary, we will easily continue effort in another direction and double check our previous work. (Yes, very likely I suspect we will. We're in planning phase lol.)

So, include a screenshot of CPU-Z 1st tab, one of memory tab and one each for each stick of RAM of the SPD tab as attachment in a new post, please.

Thank you so much for your reply.

I cannot remove VMWare as of today because much of my work is saved inside virtual machines. I was receiving blue screens before VMWare was installed.

Things I done today as per your request:
- removed ST Microelectronics software/driver
- checked for updates ( no new updates found, set to automatic update )
- updated intel video card drivers ( found new version on intel.com )
- updated intel RST drivers ( found new version on intel.com )
CPU-Z Screen Shoots:

Things couldn't do:
- went to intel.com and tried to update Intel Managment Engine. ( don't know what version to install )

I don't know where to change the name of the file because windows search found more than one location for EMSC.SYS. I have attached a picture with the search result and the corresponding date of modification.

Please let me know if further BSOD dumps are required.
Your help is much appreciated.

BSODs do not care about that.

You're welcome. It's not my request; I am simply showing how to fix the machine.

Uninstall Winblue software, whatever that is. If you can't or it's not showing, the important EMSC.sys driver is in C:\Windows\System32\drivers to delete or rename, then Regedit delete.

Latest ME from Intel. Just install.

Don't forget that Realtek card reader link to install. While there at Realtek, download/install latest HD Audio too.

If issues persist after everything, set VDIMM to 1.5v.

Hello again,

I also have no ideea what Winblue is, looked it up under control panel prgroams and features and nothing related to winblue is showing up, do you have any more info about WinBlue so I can pin it out? any filenames or paths.

I do apologize for the request thingy on my previous post, I know you are just trying to help and I much appreciate it, english is not my primary language so please bare with me and the way I pronounce things.

No, language is of no issue here. Your typed English is better than lots of Americans. All I'm saying is that I tell what needs to be done and for all I care, you could thrown the machine off a mountain and its no skin off my back lol. :)

Just recovered from another BSOD, like usual the nVidia is no where to be found, attached a picture.

Any idea what is causing the video adapter to appear disconnected? Even after reboot.
It's the weirdest problem I ever come across.

Let's start with installing a proper driver for your Unknown device. (It's probably even the NVIDIA video.)

Right click it. Properties. Details tab. Change dropdown to say Hardware ids. Copy/paste the results shown to here.

Please attach latest crash dump or tool output as before.

Also, attach a screenshot of CPU-Z 1st tab, one of Memory tab and one each for each stick of RAM of the SPD tab.

The unknown device is the ST Microelectronics removed previously ( Hardware ID: ACPI\VEN_SMO&DEV_8810 )

I have posted CPU-Z screen shoots in one of my previous posts and also attached them including the latest dump file here.

Thank you again.

Oh wow on me. Total fail lol for saying to put CPU-Z screenshots again, when you already have. Also, I was slacking a little too on ya (lol again.)

This will fix your BSOD issue: MSI USA

Crash does refer to hardware, but I wouldn't get over-dramatic about that for now. heh

You can re-install ST Microelectronics driver. If you don't know how or whatever, just let me know. No prob.

EMSC and VM still installed, but hopefully they too are/were not of issue.

You're welcome.

Thank you for the reply again,

I actually been on the msi link in the past, did all that but still got the errors ( I believe it was 2 or 3 months ago ) I will give it a shoot again and see what happens.

The crash refers to hardware issues ? Is there any way to point what part is failing ?
