Hi all,
I was having a lot of trouble with this BSOD in my windows 8 pro from a quite few days. Every 5 min. it crashed and throws a blue screen and restart(
especially while torrenting). I thought it might be windows 8 fault so it re-installed it. But no luck... But soon what I actually noticed was my HDD was making a scratching noises every now and then(initially it was low, gradually it became loud) and sometimes was also making noises like Hiccups.. I thought HDD is the culprit for all this trouble as it was old enough, almost 6-7 year.. So I bought a new one and replaced it.. So now It wasn't crashing and it went smooth for 3-4 days,(So most probably HDD was the cause of crash as I doubted), but now suddenly last night it crashed again while my torrents were downloading.. And now new HDD is also making lighter scratching noises as the old one did initially when I noticed... Is it that my HDD is being damaged through any power unit or what?? LOL sorry for thinking such stupid thing.. REALLY CONFUSED ON HOW TO HANDLE THIS PROBLEM!!
So can somebody please help me find the cause of this problem?
Btw my Laptop is almost 6-7 years old..
OS is updated totally. Also I have tired reinstalling/downgrading my utorrent client but still it crashes.. also checked network and graphics drivers for updates but no luck a well.
I have attached the dump file.
Please, help would be really appreciated.

Thank you.:)

The problem isn't likely to be harming your hard drive - but anything is possible.
I'd be more concerned about the compatibility of Windows 8 on a 6-7 year old laptop. My Lenovo x61t laptop from 2007 is not compatible w/Win8 (even had Microsoft people and MVP's look at it at the MVP Summit) - so I reverted to Win7 and it works fine there.

Please provide this information so we can provide a complete analysis (from the Pinned Topic at the top of the forum): http://www.eightforums.com/bsod-cra...e-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html

Here's my analysis of the lone memory dump:

First, be sure that you have ALL available Windows Updates. More BSOD's are solved by updating Windows than any other single thing that I have seen.

This memory dump points to networking drivers - so I would start by suggesting that you update the wired/wireless/dialup drivers to one's that are known to be compatible with Win8.

Please update these older drivers to one's that are compatible with Win8. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Yes, completely concur with advice, especially about Rtnic64.sys and netwlv64.sys.

This is for both bhaipop and Usasma:

Drivers ? Synaptics

(The reason I include you Usasma, is because the link on your website is broken. Synaptics must have changed it.)
