Blue screen of DOOM!: ntkrnlmp.exe/ Win 8 Driver Issue

So my BSOD has be plaguing me off and on for the past few months. Since it's an ntkrnlmp.exe problem I've been unable (thus far) to nail down what driver (if any) is causing the problem. It's pretty frustrating and I was hoping someone here could lend me their expert advice. I've been researching this particular problem for weeks now but nobody seems to have either the exact same issue as me OR their fixes didn't work in the long run.

I've tested memory (no issues) updated MB drivers, video card drivers, etc and still haven't been able to solve the problem. The BSOD happens at random times, and never in the same program, so I haven't really be able to tie the event to any program, startup item, etc.

In any case, suggestions would be appreciated, and thanks for looking! :geek:

Hey,

Right off the bat, you need to delete this driver:

Code:
5: kd> lmvmadfs
start end module name
fffff800`0346d000 fffff800`03485000 adfs (deferred)
    Image path: \SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\adfs.SYS
    Image name: adfs.SYS
    Timestamp: Thu Jun 26 16:52:37 2008 (48640195)
    CheckSum: 00024203
    ImageSize: 00018000
    Translations: 0000.04b0 0000.04e4 0409.04b0 0409.04e4

Then delete its subkey in Regedit at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services

Another one that has to go:

Code:
5: kd> lmvm ElbyCDIO
start end module name
fffff800`015b9000 fffff800`015c5000 ElbyCDIO (deferred)
    Image path: \SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\ElbyCDIO.sys
    Image name: ElbyCDIO.sys
    Timestamp: Thu Dec 16 17:58:13 2010 (4D0A9985)
    CheckSum: 0000C8ED
    ImageSize: 0000C000
    Translations: 0000.04b0 0000.04e4 0409.04b0 0409.04e4

along with this one:

Code:
VClone VClone.sys Sat Jan 15 11:21:04 2011

so uninstall VirtualCloneDrive and replace with latest PowerISO.

Driver Reference Table - ElbyCDIO.sys

J-Micron JMB36X storage driver needs update to newest:

Code:
5: kd> lmvm jraid
start end module name
fffff800`00200000 fffff800`00221000 jraid (deferred)
    Image path: \SystemRoot\System32\drivers\jraid.sys
    Image name: jraid.sys
    Timestamp: Thu May 19 03:55:18 2011 (4DD4CCE6)
    CheckSum: 00029667
    ImageSize: 00021000
    Translations: 0000.04b0 0000.04e4 0409.04b0 0409.04e4

ftp://driver.jmicron.com.tw/SATA_Controller/Windows/

Yet another driver needs to be manually deleted:

Code:
5: kd> lmvm PxHlpa64
start end module name
fffff800`00749000 fffff800`00754ae0 PxHlpa64 (deferred)
    Image path: \SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\PxHlpa64.sys
    Image name: PxHlpa64.sys
    Timestamp: Mon Dec 10 18:49:01 2007 (475DD06D)
    CheckSum: 0000FD49
    ImageSize: 0000BAE0
    Translations: 0000.04b0 0000.04e4 0409.04b0 0409.04e4

And then delete the subkey for this at the same location in Regedit as before.

If you're using Motionjoy at all (can't tell for sure, but can say it looks possible) - uninstall it.

Enjoy.

(Let me know when you're done with it all, so we can fix the optical drive.)

Thanks!

Dang, I thought Virtualclonedrive might cause an issue (it has in the past). Don't know why I didn't think of that. I will work on these fixes and see how things go.

THANKS SO MUCH for the quick response!

PowerISO is and always has been perfect stability under all versions of Windows, for all versions of it. That can not be said about any other software in its class.

Cool. You're welcome. Machine should be rockin \m/.
