Windows 8 BSoD when updating BIOS

Bonjour, I am having a BSoD whenever I try to update the BIOS on my Asus Eee PC 1015PX. I am currently running BIOS version 1301, but version 1401 was released. Naturally, I wanted to update my BIOS. However, whenever I use their utility, it flashes the BIOS .ROM file up until about 35%, and then my computer completely and utterly crashes. It gives me a BSoD with a DPS_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION. I do have a Windows 7 CD and could dual-boot and update the BIOS thru Windows 7, but I was just wondering if any of the users here could help me.
