Hi guys, im brand new to this forum and although i see my self as good with computers i am currently at a dead end with this.... and just before people ask, It bsod's and sticks at 0% and creates no minidump file.

Sorry if this has been talked about before, but after a lot of searching on the WWW, i believe this to be a strange case.

So, I keep getting random BSOD's in windows 8 and 8.1 (after update). With the Error message CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED & sometimes KERNAL_INPAGE_ERROR.

This is what i have done so far to attempt to fix the problem (to no avail)

Attempted to update to 8.1 from 8, (failed during) - so i reinstalled 8 from the disc and completely wiped my system HDD, Then updated to 8.1 before adding any new programs and it updated great. then a day later the BSOD's started again randomly (same error).

So i scan all HDD's (i have 5) for malware, virus's, spyware, everything. in safe mode, with the network cables unplugged. Scanned by USB drive. (i read this in my PC pro mag) - no bad stuff found, (still errors)

I started to unplug HDD's for a day at a time to see if they were erroring, even though Chkdisc and error checking said they were all fine. i tried replacing sata cables also. (same error).

So then i try taking out RAM cards 1 by 1, at 1 a day. (i have 4x 2GB), after removing 1 so down to 6GB, it stopped BSOD for a day and i thought woohoo, then it bsod'ed.

So any help will be amazing because i am pulling my hair out.

(a tiny bit of pc info to help)
Intel Core i5-3450S @ 2.80Ghz (IvyBridge)
Currently at 6GB Ram DDR3 but usually 8GB
64-bit windows 8.1, had 8... same error, had 7 before that and it worked fine for at least a year.
Windows media center version.

Please see my system specs for more detail.

Thanks guys for any help!

Alex

seems to be related to the Graphics card... i get my sound and obviously picture from the same card through hdmi... after using AMD driver detector, it has found lots of drivers that i needed and removed conflicting ones, so i will report back if any BSOD's afer this update.

obviously there was a conflict between my amd 6700 and my onboard intel hd graphics that i wasnt aware of, they both produce sound and picture. hope this helps anyone else with this problem.
