Hi guys, i have a problem with my desktop PC: a week ago i've installed some new components on my desktop (motherboard, video card, RAM and power source). I've also installed an new operating system - Windows 8, and components drivers (video, audio, ethernet) - all up-to-date, compatible with Windows 8. I've also installed the latest updates from Microsoft. The problem is, despide my system works very well, everyday Windows crashes with that so common bluescreen error. Sometimes once or twice a day, when i'm doing regular things like reading a .pdf or watching a movie. The error looks like this (i took the pic from the internet):

Do you know what could be the problem ? After computer restarts, i receive an Error Report. I took a picture to show you:

Also, i've ran Speccy to show you my whole PC's specs. I've noticed that the processor's temperatures is high (70 degrees Celsius). Could this be the problem ? Or maybe the RAM slots ? I'm waiting for your answers. Thanks !

EDIT: I see that i didn't post to the right section. I'm asking the moderators to move my post to 'BSOD Crashes and Debugging section'. In the meantime, i'll follow 'BSOD - Posting instructions' by Brink.

EDIT #2: I've done Brick's instructions regarding BSOD. I've configured Windows to create a complete memory dump. Here is the .zip file created after i've ran SF Diagnostic Tool: View attachment 31516

Yes, 70ºC is too high for the CPU. Please check the cooling solution for the CPU (thermal paste/tape between cooler and CPU, cooler is free of dirt/dust/hairballs, cooler fan is working, airflow to cooler is free and unobstructed).

Your BIOS dates from 2009. Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any BIOS updates available for your system. Also check the readme file to see if they apply to the problems that you are having. Please be advised that flashing the BIOS is a very unforgiving process - and one mistake can physically damage your motherboard.

There is a possibility that this system is not compatible with Win8 due to it's age. If this is the case you'll continue to receive problems. You may have to downgrade to Win7 to get acceptable performance.

Only 88 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 150 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

You have a Realtek RTL8187 Wireless 802.11b/g 54Mbps USB 2.0 Network Adapter
I do not recommend using wireless USB network devices. Especially in Win7/Win8/8.1 systems.
These wireless USB devices have many issues with Win7 and later - using Vista drivers with them is almost sure to cause a BSOD.
Should you want to keep using these devices, be sure to have Win7/Win8/8.1 drivers - DO NOT use Vista drivers!!!
An installable wireless PCI/PCIe card that's plugged into your motherboard is much more robust, reliable, and powerful.
Your driver dates from 2009 - it must be removed. I'd suggest removing the USB device and uninstalling the software for it in order to test it. (use a long wire or move the system closer to the router in order to get internet access).

Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions).
Please un-install the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): [DEL] DuplexSecure - FAQ [/DEL] Link broken as of 21 Jul 2012
New link (15 Aug 2012): DuplexSecure - Downloads (pick the appropriate version for your system and select "Un-install" when you run it).
Alternate link: Disk-Tools.com
Manual procedure here: Registry and SPTD problems | DAEMON Pro Help

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

rtl8187.sys Wed Dec 9 04:16:39 2009 (4B1F6AF7)
Realtek networking driver
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=rtl8187.sys

If all of this doesn't stop the BSOD's, please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings

Hi, thanks for your support! I'll follow your steps and see what's gonna be. Regarding BIOS drivers, there are only for Vista 64-bit on Asus website, and the newest version dates back in 2010. Should i install it, despide it's for Vista ?
If the problem persists and i have to install a different Windows OS, which one would you recommend me, Vista or 7 (all drivers are fully compatible with Vista) ?

OS doesn't matter for the BIOS - so go ahead and install it (read the directions thoroughly and follow them exactly!)
2010 is better than 2009 - but it still may not fix compatibility problems. The only "test" for this is to try it and see if the problem goes away. Good luck!

As for which OS - I'd say that it depends on if you have a copy of Win7 that you can use (rather than purchasing it).
If you don't have to purchase it, then try Win7 - it may take a bit of tweaking, but in most cases it'll work OK on a system designed for Vista.
If you have to purchase Win7 - then I'd stay with Vista (and save your money for a new system/motherboard).

I've removed Realtek RTL8187 Wireless from the system (driver was uninstalled). So far, the system didn't crash. I'll wait a few more days to see if problem persists. If crashes will start again i'll uninstall Daemon Tools and see what's happend.
Regarding BIOS, i've donwloaded the latest version (2010) from Asus website, but there are no instructions regarding how to install it. The downloaded file is an .zip archive with one file in it (P5W-DH-ASUS-Deluxe-3002.ROM). Do you know a tutorial regarding how to install it ? Thanks !

You're right about DTools, i got a crash about 10 mins ago. I've uninstalled Daemon. Hope that BSOD's won't come again.

EDIT: I've updated the BIOS to latest version (2010). Now when the system starts up, this message pops up 4-5 secs and after that Windows is loading. Everything works fine.

I had a little surprise: despide i've uninstalled Realtek Wireless completely (disabled the device then uninstalled the driver), everytime i start up the system the component respawns in 'Device Manager' and 'Devices and Printers' section, so it didn't uninstall. Also it appears under 'Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media' button in Taskbar, despide i've removed the Wireless antenna from the PC (it was pinned with a little screw - exactly as in the last picture). How can i remove it permanent ? I've tried to remove it 2-3 times, but it keeps respawning like i didn't anything.

I had that error in an older system of mine - it said no drives found because I didn't have anything plugged into the JMicron controller (I only used the Intel controller on that board - and Asus P6T v2 Deluxe).

You can't uninstall the card from Windows (in Device Manager) if it's still in the system. And, some cards load stuff before the Windows goes to disable the device. If that's the case, then the device will be re-detected and will re-spawn if you attempt to uninstall it.

The best way to get rid of the card is to physically remove it from the motherboard
If that's not possible, then the next best way is to disable it in the BIOS (it may take some experimenting)
If that's not possible, then it's probably not worth hunting down all the files and entries related to it - so I'd update it and then disable it in Device Manager (but NOT uninstall it).

About Wireless, Windows Update detects a newer update releated to it (Realtek), but everytime i try to install it, it gives me an error. If i try to update it from Device Manager using the Internet, it tells me that my driver version is up to date. I could update it manual via Realtek website, but i don't know which version should i choose. Could you tell me what's the compatible one, look here: Realtek

I'll try to remove it from the motherboard, if possible. But if i can't remove it and Windows keeps crashing, should i proceed to remove W8 and install 7 instead ?

The problems seem to center around this card.

This is the most likely driver for this card (Win7 NOT Win8): Realtek

There are hints on the web that this card connects to a USB header on the board - I can't tell from the pictures that I've seen.
If that is the case, you can simply unplug it.
I wasn't able to find an entry in the BIOS to disable it - which implies (to me, at least) that it's an add-on card and not soldered to the board.

The Realtek driver is only for Win Vista/7 - not for Win8
If still having problems, I'd revert to Windows 7.

Ok, i'll open and try to unplug the connector from the motherboard. If the problem won't gone, i'll install Win7. I'll keep updating this topic till the problem is gone.

EDIT: My video card got broken. The image looks pixeled bicolor. I'll return the whole system (motherboard, video card & processor to its original owner). Now there's no need to solve the BSOD problem. usasma, thanks for your help, i'm sure we could have solved the BSOD issue. This topic can be closed now.

- please start your own topic so that your problem can receive the individual attention that it deserves. Include the zip file that you made in that post.

FYI - each system is different. The first difference that I noticed here is that you only have 55 Windows Updates. Please be sure to get ALL available Windows Updates (it may take several trips and several reboots to get them all).
