I am missing uxtheme.dll so windows 8 goes into a black screen. From cmd is their a way to fix this without a windows disk? Originally today out of no where, my computer failed to start and gave me a ntfs file system error. I tried to restore but it stated there werent any restore points. I did a chkdsk c: /f and it fixed the ntfs error so now it only give me the uxtheme error.

The sfc /scannow stated it could not start the repair service. I also used the longer cmd prompt on the link you gave me and that stated it did not find any integrity violations

Run it three times.
If you still have no issues according to SFC and continue to experience the problem you mentioned, do a refresh install of Win8 8102 DP.

If you are booted into Win8 8102 DP, it will be C: by default.

However, if you cannot boot and are running it from the start up options (Command prompt) from the DVD, you would, then, need to point it to the drive where you installed Win8 8102 DP.

On another machine extract the WDP version required and search for the file. Copy it onto USB, then boot into command prompt and copy the from USB to the designated folder (Windows\system32).
