Good morning to one and all.

I have been getting this failure on and off for months now and I hope somebody can help.
It isn't to bad but I would like to get to know what the problem is.

Many thanks.

Your BIOS dates from 2010. Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any BIOS updates available for your system. Also check the readme file to see if they apply to the problems that you are having. Please be advised that flashing the BIOS is a very unforgiving process - and one mistake can physically damage your motherboard.

Interestingly, each of the memory dumps mentions GEARAspiWDM.sys - a driver most commonly used by iTunes.
I'd suggest uninstalling iTunes in order to test this (but don't suspect that this is the cause). The reason it's involved (I think) is because the error is in the section of the chipset drivers that involves the controllers for the CD/DVD drives.

If this is your motherboard: ECS Web Site > GF8100VM-M5 (V1.0)
Then your chipset is the GeForce 8100/nForce 720a - which does have Win8 and 8.1 compatible drivers available from nVidia here: Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers I cannot tell the dates of the drivers from the date of the package - you'll have to install it and see if the drivers are updated (we'll check them in any subsequent BSOD's).

But, the ECS website doesn't have any BIOS later than 2010 - and it appears it doesn't support Win8 on this motherboard.

Please update these older drivers (they're all part of the chipset drivers). Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :
