Hi,
I recently purchased a new laptop (Lenovo Y510P) and I've been having frustrating BSOD issues. I BSOD about once a day, and I'm not too sure what the reason is. I thought it might have been something to do with my audio drivers but I reinstalled them once and nothing changed. I've looked up information on this error and it seems to be a driver issue, but I was hoping you guys could let me know which thing is causing the trouble.

It also seems to BSOD most frequently while playing League of Legends. I reinstalled graphics drivers and that didn't fix it either, however.

Let me know if you need any more information and thanks in advance :D

Yes, if you could take a look at the file it would be greatly appreciated.

I uninstalled my headset drivers completely (Corsair Vengeance 1500) and I haven't played League of Legends these past few days and it seems to be fine, so I suspect it's one of the two things but if I can get a confirmation that would be amazing.

Just off the top of my head, Corsair Link2 is known to have some issues with Win8. If it's installed on your system please remove it.

MSINFO32 report is corrupted. Please do this:
MSINFO32:
Please go to Start and type in "msinfo32.exe" (without the quotes) and press Enter
Save the report as an .nfo file, then zip up the .nfo file and upload/attach the .zip file with your next post.
Also, save a copy as a .txt file and include it also (it's much more difficult to read, but we have greater success in getting the info from it).

If you're having difficulties with the format, please open an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt and type (or copy/paste) "msinfo32 /nfo %USERPROFILE%\Desktop\TEST.NFO" (without the quotes) and press Enter. Then navigate to Desktop to retrieve the TEST.NFO file. If you have difficulties with making this work, please post back. Then zip up the .nfo file and upload/attach the .zip file with your next post.

All 3 memory dumps point to the driver for your C-Media Electronics USB Audio ( Driver Reference Table - CAHS164.sys ) As the driver dates from 2011, there's a good chance that it's not compatible with Win8
Also, hal.dll is present in the raw stack text and it's (generally) a sign of a low-level, compatibility, or hardware issue)

I suspect that this is a part of the Corsair Vengeance 1500 software - and this is supported by the lack of BSOD's once it was uninstalled.

If you'd like to test it, try getting updated, Win8 compatible drivers from the Corsair website and see if that helps.
AFAIK, there is no direct support available from C-Media Electronics

Should the BSOD's continue, please uninstall Daemon Tools and the sptd.sys driver using these instructions:
Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions).
Please un-install the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): [DEL] DuplexSecure - FAQ [/DEL] Link broken as of 21 Jul 2012
New link (15 Aug 2012): DuplexSecure - Downloads (pick the appropriate version for your system and select "Un-install" when you run it).

Manual procedure here: Registry and SPTD problems | DAEMON Pro Help

Please update these older drivers (you may not find an update for this one - but it's worth looking for). Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

I have attached the msinfo in a zip file like you requested.

The BSODs seem to have gone away since uninstalling the Corsair Audio Drivers. However, it seems that the base volumes for my headset are really loud without the drivers installed. As in, 5% without the drivers sounds like the same volume as 50% with the drivers. I'm just wondering if you know of a way to reduce how much power gets sent to the headset, because obviously it's a lot without the drivers installed. If not, then it's fine.

Thanks a lot for doing this! You rock!

Don't forget that Daemon Tools can cause BSOD's (should they recur).

Nothing further in the MSINFO32 report.
I'd suggest posting over in the Sound & Audio forums for help with this (I'm lousy with sound problem): Sound & Audio - Windows 8 Forums
