Solved WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR WinDbg need help translating?

I've been getting the same WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR for some time now. It just happens at random, whenever I'm playing games or using programs. In my desperation to figure out what is really going on I followed an online tutorial which showed me how to use a minidump file to generate the following information in WinDbg. But, I don't know how to interpret it. Can anyone help me determine what this means? Any help is much appreciated.

I had yet another crash and they all seem to be related!

I'm sure that if i knew anything about how to debug, then I would have figured this out by now. But, I'm not a computer Guru. And I really need someone to point out for me specifically what is causing this.

You're getting the same error each time - WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR, with a sub-code (parameter 1) indicating 0x0 Machine Check Exception. The explanation of WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR is "A fatal hardware error has occurred. Parameter 1 identifies the type of error source that reported the error. Parameter 2 holds the address of the WHEA_ERROR_RECORD structure that describes the error conditon. (sic)"

I've had WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR dumps on machines before, and it's almost always been the CPU that's to blame. In my nearly 20 years of IT experience, I've had very few CPUs go bad, but it does happen. People might think that a CPU is either good or bad; either 100% working or 100% bad. That's not the case--a CPU can work right for awhile and then without warning it'll cause a dump on you.

I would try running MEMTEST to rule out a memory problem. I would also run the SF diagnostics as described here and post the results: http://www.eightforums.com/bsod-cra...e-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html

Check out this step-by-step guide on resolving WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR: What does the WHEA Uncorrectable Error Blue Screen mean in Windows?

There's some good stuff there. It talks about running the Windows Memory Diagnostic, which can help rule out faulty memory. It also talks about ruling out a bad hard drive or SSD with CHKDSK. CHKDSK is a bit more limited, so a robust hard disk health tool like WindowSMART 2013, Crystal Disk Info or HD Sentinel should be used to see if the disk itself is reporting serious problems.

Thankyou very much for your response, I've only had this computer for 2 days now. I did a couple things since I last posted to try to fix my computer problem. I enabled automatic driver updates for Windows 8 and also installed like forty something updates using Windows Updater. Interestingly, after doing that I was able to play Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 on highest settings for a few hours without any crashes early this morning. However, I'm half expecting it to crash again since I'm skeptical that something like that would fix it. I think running some benchmarking software would help to prove whether or not the problem still exists or not. Since I think I need to test the processor to make double sure it is functioning correctly. Thankyou for your response, if the problem continues, then I have the feeling its the processor.

Sorry for the delay in responding. There just aren't that many people who do BSOD analysis, so at times we get a bit overwhelmed!

Please provide this information so we can provide a complete analysis: http://www.eightforums.com/bsod-cra...e-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html

STOP 0x124 errors are errors that the CPU detects and sends to Windows.
They are mostly hardware problems - but we have seen them caused by low-level drivers.
The first one mentions gzflt.sys - a low-level driver for your BitDefender.
I'd suggest removing BitDefender (and enabling Windows Defender and the Windows Firewall) temporarily to see if that helps.

One of the first things that we check here are Windows Updates. That's why we don't have many problems with Windows BSOD's - the updates take care of the vast majority of them.

Thankyou for your reply Usasma!

I'm sorry it took so long for me to answer back. I've had a lot going on in my life lately, so I couldn't free myself long enough to troubleshoot my computer issues. I did as you suggested and removed bitdefender. Then I followed the guide you posted to install the SF Diagnostic Tool. I ran the tool and zipped the contents of the folder it generated. I will post that on here so that you may be able to help further diagnose my issues. Thankyou very much for any help that you or others may be able to give me. I hope to hear back from you.

SSD's were temperamental when they first came out, but their reliability has improved greatly over the last year or two. There are 2 things that MUST be checked on systems with BSOD's and SSD's:
1) That the SSD firmware is the latest available for the SSD. I usually can't see this info in the reports, so I rely on you to check it.
2) That the storage controller drivers on the motherboard are the most recent. They must date from late 2012 or later. This is ALL controllers, not just the one that the SSD is attached to. If involved these should be visible in the memory dump - but it doesn't hurt to check manually.

ChillControl VI Driver/Antec Kuhler H20 920 doesn't have drivers installed.
Please install them immediately.
Info on problems with this device here: Antec Kühler H2O 920 - USB Connection Issue, any help is appreciated. - Page 4

This is (IMO) most likely a hardware problem. Please run all of the hardware diagnostics listed here: Hardware Diagnostics Let us know the results and we'll move on from there.

Crashes stopped after restoring BIOS to default settings

I had a hunch that the crashes were being caused by my pushing the system too hard. So I went into the BIOS settings and changed them to default settings. After that, I haven't had any more crashes. And all of the programs I normally use seem to run just as well as before. So I feel the sacrifice in processor speed is really worth it to have a more stable system for me. In the future whenever my system begins to run programs too slowly then I may consider trying to overclock it a bit again, but for now I am happy.

Thankyou for all of your suggestions.
In the end I think that the problem was just a bad overclock using the tools included with the Asus z87 pro motherboard.

Take care and thankyou for all of your help.
