Hello. The Acer Satellite P850 I purchased a month or so ago recently crashed, with the error given being 'Page Fault in Non Paged Area.' The crash screen also mentioned win32k.sys as the cause of the crash.
What is more problematic, however, is that after Windows 8 'collect[ed] information and [restarted the computer],' it seemed to get caught in a reset cycle. Upon powering up, the computer will whir for just a moment before either making a clicking or beeping noise. After making one of the noises, it powers off and powers back on again, only to repeat the cycle until the power button is held down.
I understand the error can be caused by many things, and that of them the most common of hardware-related causes is faulty RAM, but the noises and failure to start at all seem indicative of a problem with the hard drive. I cannot, unfortunately, collect or provide any dumps or reports due to this phenomenon. Am I correct in my limited understanding of what has happened, and is there anything I can do to fix this short of shipping it in?
Thank you for your time.
