BSODs when running scans

Hi! I really hope someone can help me because I'm slowly becoming desperate. I bought a Sony Vaio laptop around 4 months ago and it came with Windows 8. I've had no problems with it until now. Yesterday I decided to run the full scan for the first time since I got the laptop using Windows Defender. Around 15 minutes into the scan, my screen turned blue and showed me an error which read 'kernel data inpage error'. The laptop restarted itself and I ran the scan again. It took around 40 minutes before my laptop crashed again, showing the same error. I looked up this error on many forums and tried so many different things to fix it. I've updated everything, did a disk check which resulted in my laptop finding some error and fixing it. After that, I decided not to use Windows Defender since it was obviously causing the errors and downloaded Malwarebytes which was recommended on some forum instead. I ran the full scan and it found many potential viruses on my laptop. There were around 16 before I fell asleep, and when I woke up (an hour later), the laptop was turned off (it crashed again). So I turned it on again, started the scan AGAIN and after some minutes my screen froze and I got another error, but this time it was 'page fault in non-paged area'. I did a disk check again and it found no errors but my laptop crashed once again when I tried to run a scan (quick scan this time). This doesn't happen if I'm not running a scan, but I really want to clean my laptop since it looks like I've got lots of unwanted viruses and whatnots on it. I'd really appreciate any help because I honestly don't know what to do anymore.
