Various BSODs Every Day

Hi,

I have a Lenovo G480 laptop which is less than two weeks old. When I bought it, the guy at the shop added 2GB of RAM to the existing 2GB. A few days ago I installed several Windows updates.

The latest BSOD was system service exception. I've also had several instances of page fault in nonpaged area and, if I remember correctly, NTFS file system. The BSODs tend to happen shortly after the first startup of the day. They sometimes occur when I try to watch YouTube videos. They happen every day.

Any help would be much appreciated.

System One

  • OS
    Windows 8
Only 41 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 66 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

Bluetooth is disabled. Is this deliberate? If so, why?

Out of 5 memory dumps there were 4 different BSOD error codes. The differing error codes are usually symptomatic of a lower level problem within the system. They are usually caused by one of these things:
- borked (broken) hardware (several different procedures used to isolate the problem device)
- BIOS issues (check for updates at the motherboard manufacturer's website)
- overclocking - You'll know if you're overclocking or not. If uncertain we can suggest things to check.
- compatibility issues (3rd party hardware/drivers)
- low-level driver problems
- or even malware (scanned for when we ask for hardware diagnostics from Initial Hardware Diagnostics or Hardware Diagnostics ).

Additonally, the memory dumps seem to point at hardware issues, so that's our primary concern here. Try these free diagnostics: Initial Hardware Diagnostics If they all pass, then try those here: Additional Hardware Diagnostics

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

NOTE: You may not find updates for the Lenovo drivers - if so, just post back to let us know.

Hi,

I'm in the midst of getting the Windows updates and I'm still looking for the drivers.

I did, however, run Memtest and a bunch of errors came up:

View attachment 22248

Should I bring it back to the store to get it checked out? I'm hopeless at sorting these things out myself.

If it's still under warranty, return it (or have them repair it).
The red in the Memtest is most likely a bad stick of RAM (hardware)
