Hello!

I've always have problems with sleep/hibernation due to my old Graphics Card (didn't always send signal to the monitor when it started running), but now I changed it and want to use the Hibernate or Fast Startup functions.

Problem is I get that "blue screen" with that error (title). Always (tried 4 times untill now).

It happens when turning on the PC. Then it restarts and it works...

In the archive you will see there is also another archive named "old dumps". Those are dumps from older BSODs. The ones from 4th May are because the old Video Card, which got broken. And the older ones...no idea now why I had them, but it wasn't anything constant, probably just my "tinkering".

I kept them here, maybe you need them, no Idea. The dumps with the recent problem are there, archived only in the zip.

Any other info - please ask me.

Your BIOS dates from 2010. Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any BIOS updates available for your system. Also check the readme file to see if they apply to the problems that you are having. Please be advised that flashing the BIOS is a very unforgiving process - and one mistake can physically damage your motherboard.

C: drive only has about 6% free space (other drives may have less than 15% also). Windows likes 15% free space in order to perform stuff "behind the scenes" without adversely affecting the system's performance. Please free up 15% on ALL hard drives (you can get away with 10% on larger drives and won't notice a large performance penalty)

These devices have issues:
Not Available ROOT\*ATITOOLDEVICE\0000 The drivers for this device are not installed.
Not Available ACPI\AWY0001\2&DABA3FF&1 The drivers for this device are not installed.

Please do the following:
- uninstall all ATI/AMD software related to your video card
- uninstall ATI Tool (if not a part of the ATI/AMD software).
- Uninstall the 2 devices above from Device Manager by right clicking on them (ATI Tool and AMD Away).
- Since it appears you now have an nVidia card it shouldn't be necessary to install ATI/AMD drivers again.

Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions).
Please un-install the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): [DEL] DuplexSecure - FAQ [/DEL] Link broken as of 21 Jul 2012
New link (15 Aug 2012): DuplexSecure - Downloads (pick the appropriate version for your system and select "Un-install" when you run it).

Manual procedure here: Registry and SPTD problems | DAEMON Pro Help

MSI Afterburner (along with Riva Tuner and EVGA Precision) are known to cause BSOD's in some Windows systems (it's driver is usually RTCore64.sys). Please un-install it immediately!

If you're overclocking, please stop the overclock while we're troubleshooting. Feel free to resume the overclock once the system has been stabilized.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

OK.

I did what you said about the Daemon.
I reinstalled and then uninstalled speedfan; don't know why I still had the speedfan.sys; the program was already uninstalled. Meh
I updated the VIA and Creative sound card drivers (altough if it proves that the Creative Audigy wasn't the problem, I'm getting back to that driver since it's a modded, better one).

I can't seem to find what I need for the Realtek Internet Integrated Chip (I'm guessing that's what the RT630x64 is), nor the ASUS IOMap64.sys (ASUS Kernel Mode Driver ?Asus Smart Doctor/iTracker 2);

For the OPENVPN, I need that version, not the latest one (Private Tunnel). But I'll uninstall it anyway to see if the problem is solved without it.

I already have the newest BIOS. That's the bad part about having a rather old PC :(.

I uninstalled ATiTOOL, I wanted to use it to check the stability of the video card in OC and I forgot to uninstall it.

Don't know what the "ACPI\AWY0001\2&DABA3FF&1" is. I uninstalled it from Device Manager and it still came back after a restart. I don't have a "chipset driver" for the mainboard on the manufacturer website... (found out that the chipset driver sometimes fixes this).

Gonna edit with something about the BIOS in a few minutes. BRB

Yeah, Away Mode Support was Enabled and I just found out it's not ok to have it. Probably that's the ACPI AMD error. I disabled AMS and now that error is no more.
It seems the shutdown/hibernate are working now.

I'll try to reinstall the software I uninstalled (daemon especially, but also the Creative Driver). Hope nothing changes. I won't activate/install the SPTD again since I'm sure I don't even use it. "Classic/Basic" Daemon Tools Lite is perfect as it is for me.

And about the HDD Space: Can't really understand why the C partition is getting full so fast. I just recently gave it 2 more GB from D and now it's already used.

Actually I know what's the problem, but I don't know how to solve it: when something like Visual Studio 2012 updates, it probably keeps all the installation files. And they are...large.

Don't really know now what the problem was, but I also installed new (modded) drivers for Audigy SE and everything works fine.

Thank you very much usasma!

Not a problem - we got lucky with such a quick fix.
Just FYI - we see more problems with Daemon Tools/Alcohol % software than any other program. I'd suggest using another program to mount disks.

I use WinDirStat (free from here: WinDirStat - Windows Directory Statistics ) to see what's taking up space on my hard drive.
That's how I (recently) found out that Windows Search Indexer ran amok and ate ALL of my hard drive space!

I also use WinDirStat.

I freed some space and I have like 12% free on C now.
Google Chrome is annoying, it has several hundred MB in APPData, but also in Program Files. It's annoying how much storage space it totally uses. I'm really considering uninstalling it and keeping IE as my alternative browser, since I find it actually an ok browser now (Firefox will still be my main - it's a matter of preference and customization).

Also I had a log file once, in my C:\Program Files (x86)\Yahoo!\Messenger\logs folder, that reached more than 2GB space. A damn text file. I was probably keylogged, no idea. Deleted it and then it was ok, now it doesn't go above a few KB.

And also nVidia drivers take up a lot of space when installed, even if you do check the "clean installation". nVidia really needs to fix that. It keeps old installation files in Program Files\Nvidia\Installer2, but also in the System32\DriverStore\FileRepository -> I have to take ownership upon the old nVidia folders and then delete them, because each time you install a driver, a new folder is created and the old one just sits there.

I regularly see that Chrome does not follow the usual protocols for where to locate elements of the program and it's data.
As such, I consider it to be sloppy programming (just my opinion - and I'm not a programmer) and won't use it on my systems.

There are 3 partitions on the hard drive that contains the C: partition.
I'd suggest one of two things:
- wipe the hard drive, leave it in one partition and install Windows to it. Take the stuff that's on the other 2 partitions and put it onto an external USB drive.
- remove stuff from the other 2 partitions - then use a 3rd party partitioning tool to shrink those partitions and increase the size of the C: partition (I don't use these tools very often, so I can't suggest one).

As always - BACKUP before messing with the disks, just in case something goes wrong!

I'll think about it after the finals. Now it would take too much time.
I'll finally put the new External HDD to work (with big amounts of data, not just stuff around 20GB max that my father keeps).

Thanks for the help, again!
