Solved Frequent aleatory BSOD freezing

Hi,

Ever since installing W8pro on my former W7 Acer Aspire I suffer with system freezing up without knowing what can be the cause.
It goes as follows: Suddenly I find my HDD writing data for more then a minute, while the active program gives a "Not responding" message. Sometimes I still can exit some of the other open programs, sometimes not.
Ctrl+Alt+sup will not let me go to task manager. Sometimes small boxes come up to have me stop programs, but then still I cannot stop them. Sometimes Ctrl+Alt+Sup gives me a black screen after some time and message to stop system with Power button. Other times I don't have any other option then powering off because all is frozen.

I hope the SF Diag info can help to find any clues on the problem!
I cannot find any minidump file and still I have the config setup to create them?

Thank you very much for any help!

Your BIOS dates from 2008. Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any BIOS updates available for your system. Also check the readme file to see if they apply to the problems that you are having. Please be advised that flashing the BIOS is a very unforgiving process - and one mistake can physically damage your motherboard.

These devices have problems in Device Manager:
PCI Memory Controller PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_444E&SUBSYS_444E8086&REV_01\4&1CDB1BF4&0&00E1 The drivers for this device are not installed.

Winbond CIR Transceiver ACPI\WEC1020\4&321E31A3&0 This device is disabled.
The first device is the Intel Turbo Memory controller. Please install the latest, Win8 compatible version of this device.

The Winbond CIR Transceiver is disabled - is this deliberate? If so, why?

Due to the BIOS date and the Intel Turbo Memory device - I have to wonder if this system is going to be able to handle Win8 without issues. My own older laptop had similar issues and I finally gave up on it and am purchasing a new, Win8 compatible system.

Good luck!

Thank you for coming to help!

BIOS: I am quite sure no newer bios have been made for my Acer. I have triplecheked with the acer ftp.

Ítems on the hardware Device Manager: I found those on yellow, and I have not yet found the new drivers, but I can still work on that. And Yes; I disabled the CIR in an attempt to see if that would make any difference to the freezes.

However; As you state at the end, I think there is a big chance that finally I should get a new laptop even if W8 adviser found all ok to migrate :)

I'll try some more with those hardware drivers and then let you know.

Thanks!
