Background Host Crash - Numerous times a day

  1. #11

The error is not hardware related. I have the latest firmware for my SSD drive, and my BIOS is up to date. If I didn't mention, I was going to mention that I doubt it's hardware related. Anyone else have any other solution besides programs that I need to remove ?

Viewing through Windows 7, me like-a-discuss 8 though

Daemon Tools is known to cause BSOD's in Windows systems. If you choose to leave it installed, that's up to you.
HotSpotShield is known to cause BSOD's in Windows systems. If you choose to leave it installed, that's up to you.

The above two sentences made by Usasma are highly valuable and correct. They should be considered before further evaluating the machine for any problems.

With those gone (along with sptd.sys as described, too), I wouldn't be surprised if the system stabilizes completely in all aspects. If not, you'd be one step closer.

Neither of those tools are installed any longer.

Wise move, even just for troubleshooting purposes.

    How are things going now?

I recommend PowerIso as a substitute for Daemon Tools. It won't ever crash the system.

This is frustrating, finding a needle in a haystack to what is the cause of this.

Edit: If anyone else is experiencing this problem, I was informed to wait for a Windows8 Service Pack, hopefully it is fixed

Numerous BSOD's
I repeatedly get random BSOD's. Sometimes they occur when I'm not using the computer and can happen several times in one day. Some days I don't get any. There doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason as to when or why they occur. I posted a couple of weeks ago but haven't heard anything back in...
