Window 8 BSOD

I have been getting BSOD errors for about 4-5 months. At first, I was running Windows 7, then I upgraded to Windows 8. I only get the errors when playing games, sometimes crashing after 45 minutes, sometimes after 5 minutes. The computer runs without problems when I am not playing games. It also does not matter what games I am playing. I have a Cyberpower PC, AMD 6400, 4GB RAM, 300GB HD & 9800 GTX+ video card. An external HD is connected to the PC & all drivers are up to date. I have also run video card & memory stress tests with no problems & the computer did not crash. I will usually get the "DRIVER_OVERRAN_STACK_BUFFER" error, but once in a while it will be a different error.

Any help would be appreciated.

For starters:

At work we start all repairs with a set of diagnostics. Often they find problems that weren't even expected. It's a waste of time to try to fix software on a system that has hardware problems.
Please try these free diagnostics for starters: Initial Hardware Diagnostics
Also, please ensure that you have ALL available Windows Updates (it may take several trips to get them all).
