Suddenly getting BSOD. It's happened 3 times in the last week. I'm running a Windows 8 upgrade on an originally Windows 7 machine. I did the upgrade 6 or 7 months ago. No problems since then. Debug of the minidump gives "Probably caused by : win32k.sys ( win32k!SURFACE::bDeleteSurface+5b6 )" which I couldn't find anything useful for on google.

Your BIOS dates from 2011. Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any BIOS updates available for your system. Also check the readme file to see if they apply to the problems that you are having. Please be advised that flashing the BIOS is a very unforgiving process - and one mistake can physically damage your motherboard.

C: drive only has about 5% free space. Windows likes 15% free space in order to perform stuff "behind the scenes" without adversely affecting the system's performance. Please free up 15% on ALL hard drives (you can get away with 10% on larger drives and won't notice a large performance penalty)

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Thanks for the response. Ok, I updated my bios and all the drivers. I removed the apps for drivers that didn't have updates. I had problems with the Sft*.sys drivers as I could no longer remove the Microsoft Application Virtualization app via the control panel. I deleted it manually by removing the drivers and the directory from program files (following How to manually uninstall the App-V 4.6 SP1 client - The Microsoft Application Virtualization Blog - Site Home - TechNet Blogs). I cleared gigs off my hard drive so I am now have >15% free space. I'll give it a few days to see if I am BSOD free before marking this as solved. Thanks again, usasma.
