BSOD when installing AMD Catalyst Drivers

Hi there. This problem has been driving me up the wall. Every time I try to install the latest AMD drivers (13.2_Beta5), just after my screen flickers I get a BSOD with the message IRQl_not_less_or_equal. This used to happen occasionally when I first upgraded to Windows 8 but hasn't done it since trying to install these drivers

I have tried completely removing the drivers and re-installing but that doesn't work.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Any particular reason as to why you are trying the beta driver? If not, then just go back to version 13.1.

Thanks for the replies. I am using the beta drivers as they provide much better performance in Skyrim, which I like to play regularly. Of course it is not essential that I use them.

I could go back to the older drivers but what worries me is that this happened randomly even before I started using the beta drivers (can't remember which drivers it was). Now that I can get the problem to happen reliably I was hoping to find the root of the problem.

Any idea what the dump files are saying?

Thanks again for your help.

I had the same issue , now i figured it out that we need to completely remove old driver before installing a new one

Step 1 : Make sure you uninstalled all AMD Catalyst drivers and CAP
Step 2 : Reboot then use this tool to remove all leftovers
AMD Catalyst Un-install Utility
Step 3 : Now install the new version
