I was just working on my website. I had a few windows open.. My room was a little hot so it may have overheated..

But I'm a little concerned. If it was overheated would that damage the laptop?

Was it running Windows 8 when you bought it or did you upgrade it. Some of these models originally came with Windows 7 and latter on changed with Windows 8. Do you have a third party anti virus program in the computer. This kind of problem should not be happening in a new system.

It was running with windows 8 from the beginning.

The only anti virus I installed was anti malwarebytes. Avg was already on

Like I said at the time my room was warm and I had 5 browser windows open.

But I've only had the laptop a week.

Uninstall AVG anti virus and see if the problem continues, sometimes conflicts are created. Windows Defender is all you need. Malwarebytes is OK to leave on the system. The temperature in the room would not be a factor here unless you had it to close to a heat source.

My radiator was on but it wasn't directly next to it. Quite close though as my rooms quite small.

same thing happened today giving the error: DPC Watchdog Violation.

I've done a full scan with Anti-Malwarebites and it found nothing.

Any ideas?
