Well.. this is wonderful..

I just purchased the 10 dollar version of Office 2013 pro for home use through the company I work for. Prior to installing, I figured, I should probably first uninstall 2010 just so everything is a nice clean slate. After uninstalling 2010 though, I got prompted to reboot, and now my machine will not boot to desktop. I get to log in screen, click on log in, type my passwd, and then it crashes.. A screen pops up, gather some data to give to microsoft, and then reboots..

It does mention Driver_corrupted_expool.

Any help appreciated!!

I came close to making it into safe mode. The desktop loaded for about 20 seconds, but then it crashed in the same way. I can get to a command prompt though.. Do you know of a way to run windows update in Win 8 from Command line. I probably just need to update one of my drivers, and am hoping that win update will help. Thanks for the reply!

If you can get into the cammand prompt, run sfc /scannow to check for missing or corrupted system files. If any found it will attempt to repair and replace.

It seems to crash in safe mode, as soon as I click on something. going to try just using the keyboard this time.. It takes forever. Why did they take away the f8 option to get into safe mode? This way, I have to boot to login, hold shift, click on power, wait, then go to advanced, restart options.. then boot and select safe. Very tedious..

SFC Scanno did not help. I am just reloading windows. Fortunately, I had my user profiles stored to a different drive partition, so really no need to backup, aside from what I was doing on the day it crashed, which I can live with.. Will take less time than what I have tried so far in any case..
