    Not BSOD, but....

I didn't know where else to post. Here's my problem. Just bought a new pc, have no experience with windows 8. I play pc games. Prior to today, I've had no problems. Started up LoTRO, played for a good while, then the computer just restarted on me. No warnings, no nothing. Thought it must have been a fluke, tried again same result. Tried out a different game, worked fine. So I uninstalled LoTRO, thought it'd be fixed, tried another game, same thing happened. Only about 5-10 minutes in it decides to restart on me. I'm in the process of doing a full system scan, I thought that maybe my graphics card was overheating, but it's really just five minutes into running something it was doing fine a day ago. I downloaded CPUID Hardware monitor just in case but the readings all look good. I've uninstalled and deleted what I downloaded between yesterday when it was working, and today. Here's my system info:

Your system info does not tell anything about the problem. press on WIN+x, a popup menu will display on bottom left corner, click on Event Viewer, look under Windows Logs-> Application, it will tell a little bit more about what happened at the time it rebooted

What we need are dmp files to analyze the problem.
Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions

NOTE: You did not get BSOD, but you need to use the procedure above to upload the dmp files

Your video display driver Version 10/17/2012 is outdated: nvlddmkm.sys
Go to and download the new driver and install it. Make sure you disable any anti virus software.

Also, when you have a chance, update your system specs so you can get help more effectively.

EDIT: the 2nd dmp file also indicated that you have AVAST anti virus running, Windows Defender is sufficient enough, you don't really need it.

Alright, tested it out, did the same thing. I updated my driver as you suggested, and disabled avast and turned defender back on.

So I was testing it out, and it happened in another program It hadn't happened in before. Barely five minutes in.reran that tool from the forums, and included one of the two .dmp files that the error report said would be sent to microsoft, the other one is the memory.dmp but it's kind of large.
