Hi there , i know that there are a few threads posted about this problem but OP's never post enough info on the problem , after fiddling with the startup options and the general recovery process im going to post here before trying a clean install , i need to get to the bottom of this!
A Quick overview :
I made a clean install for windows 8 through my USB (used the windows 7 tool for that) , installed windows 8 without a single problem , used it for 3 days straight without any problems (some minor freezes here and there) , games were working fine and 3D applications (Maya , Unity3D..etc) worked fine. I updated my Windows to the latest update (some drivers were included through the update) , the night before this nightmare started i turned it off and went to sleep , next morning i woke up turned it on but i had to leave so i turned it off on the lock screen (before logging in). turned it on later that night and this problem happend.
Problem :
"Automatic Repair" saying "Automatic Repair Couldn't Repair Your PC".
The file is "F:\WINDOWS\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt".
I went to advanced options and tried the following:
1- Restore from system point :
gave me an error that the system Protection service needs to be activated.
2- CMD :
tried SFC / scannow and it gave me the same error above "system Protection service could not be started" .
tried chkdsk and it said that no problems were found.
3- tried through advanced startup options
* Safe Mode dosnt work , it will simply boot me back to automatic diagnostic running and takes me back to the first error posted here ""Automatic Repair" saying "Automatic Repair Couldn't Repair Your PC"."
4- tried disabling automatic restart , dosnt work.
I booted from my USB drive again and tried everything posted above and same problem , nothing works , i cant refresh , reset or do anything else...
i tried everything humanly possible from the recovery console and nothing works , so im simply stuck in this crappy windows repair boot with no way out.. i am now using Windows 7 through my other hard drive and i have my Windows 8 drive connected (checked it for error and it returned back a healthy drive) but i did however find this log file on my Win8 drive (Windows\debug\WIA) , the text file is this "wiatrace" , it contained the following :
does this mean that my Samsung GS2 drivers caused the problem?
I found no other logs , at least not that i know of... i really need to try and fix this but its not really a big deal if i have to clean install again since i have 4 different HDD's installed and i have a backup of all my files.. but i have to try and fix this so that people like me can fix this and of course have a way out personally if it happens again..
thank you for reading and ill be waiting for your replies...
