bsod question

What does the BSOD look like in windows 8? No..I'm not experiencing any issues just want to know if the BSOD looks the same like the previous versions of windows.

    upgraded to 12 gB from 8 gB

    has switchable - Intel/ATI - Used wrong drivers, now ATI card is inop :( Will have to fix it soon!

    I'm nearly deaf, so this isn't used often

    Touchscreen on laptop/32" Toshiba on HDMI (laid the Sharp TV on a mouse and cracked the screen!)

    One Samsung 1tB drive - 5400 rpm. Gonna switch to a 7200/10000 rpm or an SSD (if I can find $500 for a 1tB SSD!)
    - Switched to 500 gB Samsung 840 series SSD - WOW!!!

    Why do we ask this for laptops?

In windows 7 you get a similar screen when windows encounters a problem and needs to shut down to protect itself and then you have the actual BSOD, which only last for a second or two. So in 8, has both been incorporated into just the sad smiley face.

The new one is much simpler. It gives enough info for one to start looking for answers. It's the only one that you'll see in Win8
Not many people use the detailed info on the old screen - and rarely is it needed as there are other ways to get the info.
Also, some answers are simple and easily found - while others will want to make you rip your hair out!
