First time getting this on this computer.

Girlfriend had just launched The Sims 3 and in the middle of loading it BSODs.

System Specs: i7 2630QM, 8GB Ram, 555M GT Graphics Card, Intel 330 180GB SSD, Windows 8 Pro with MC

On a random sidenote, this computer used to BSOD in Windows 7 every now and then(1-2 month intervals) with:

"a clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor"

Never found a fix for that.[Tried three fresh installs and a HDD and a SSD] Decided to go with Windows 8, ran fine for about a month until this new BSOD.

Alright, the computer froze while in game again. This time it was just a black screen, it was completely frozen. Couldn't do anything and had to hold the power button. I think it saved a new dump because after a restart windows error reporting was open asking to send details or not. So I made a new zip and this one looks like every file is in there.

Welcome to Eight Forums.

These crashes are blaming a driver.

What USB devices do you have connected?
Remove all that are not necessary, this means nothing connected to your laptop.

Un-install HWiNFO32, it's not loading correctly.

Which anti-virus are you using?

This is indicating your CPU is overheating, this is very common for a laptop with those specs.
Cleanout the dust from the cooling system.
Be sure the laptop has good ventilation at all times, never set it on any fabric/material surface including your legs.

A lot of these, can be caused by a driver or the CPU overheating.

Also a lot of app crashes but, no indication of which one.

Run the System File Checker:
How to Run the "SFC /SCANNOW" Command at Boot or in Windows 8
Run it 3 times with re-boots after each run.

This is a Seven Forums tutorial, it will be the same for W8.
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable
Driver Verifier runs in the background, "testing" drivers for bugs. If it finds one, a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) will result; the corresponding dump file will hopefully show the faulty driver.
Run for 24 hours or if it crashes several times you can disable it.
Use your computer as you normally would, although expect frequent BSODs if there are driver issues. If the system doesn't crash after 24 hours, disable driver verifier.
This will slow down your computer, it's stressing the drivers trying to make them fail.
It's important to use your computer normally, this will help find the offending driver.

Thanks I will try that tomorrow.

To answer your questions, I have no usb devices connected to the laptop. Only the ac charger is connected.

Anti-virus is the default windows defender that comes with Windows 8.

I'll try uninstalling hwinfo and reinstall without autostart. I use it to help boost the fans so the cpu doesn't get too hot.

The CPU fan is clear of dust and the CPU was re-pasted a few times with IC Diamond. This CPU seems to run very hot so there isn't too much I can do. It's never gamed on any materials like cloth that would cause it to overheat.

Another thing I was thinking of, earlier before the sims 3 would randomly crash and say "sims 3 has stopped working" when I was using nvidia drivers (non WHQL beta drivers) so I updated to the latest WHQL drivers that were just released. I hope that didn't affect this as well.

You should get HWiNFO64.

Use Real Temp , to check the CPU temps when at idle, under load and/or testing.
Let us know the minimum and maximum temps you get.

Don't use beta drivers, the official drivers are problematic enough.
If you still have crashes with the graphics driver, install an older version. It may take a few versions to find a stable one, all graphics drivers have this stability issue.

I am using hwinfo64.

Previously in realtemp i'd get a minimum of around 45C and a max under gaming around 79C-83C. With a fan profile the max stays 79C and below.

I'm using the 310.70 WHQL drivers right now and am about to start using driver verifier.

Temps after 30 minutes of gaming no bsod yet:

minimum: 44-41-44-43
maximum: 76-74-76-73
gpu min: 39
gpu max: 70

Your app crashes are HWiNFO32. Make sure it has been un-installed.

Intel® Core™ i7-870 Processor
Tcase 72.7°C, add 5°C for core temps, your max is 77.7°C.
Are you overclocking?
What is your load CPU voltage?
Those idle temps are high, unless your room temp is 40°C.
Those core temps are high for a game, OCCT or Prime95 would be higher.

Check if the CPU cooler is loose.
You should remove the cooler, clean off old thermal paste, re-apply thermal paste, install cooler.

GPU looks ok.

Weird, I never installed hwinfo32 but 64.

Also wrong CPU, mine is the 2630QM, here: ARK | Intel® Core

There's no overclocking. I haven't been able to bsod normally but when closing the lid and making the computer wake up it instantly bsods. I'll run it a little bit longer before making a new file.

I'm going to do a re-paste with MX-4 later on(IC Diamond hasn't been helping last few pastes)
