Hi,

I am currently experiencing a BSOD error and the error is BAD_POOL_CALLER. According to the guidelines in previous posts I am uploading my system memory dump file from C:\Windows\Minidump. Please go thru it and tell me what i should do. Many thnks in advance.

A lone memory dump file often doesn't give us enough information for a decent analysis. Please provide this information so we can provide a complete analysis: https://www.eightforums.com/bsod-cr...e-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html

At work we run diagnostics on every system that we take in for repair (before we even start working on it). At a minimum, please run the free diagnostics here: Initial Hardware Diagnostics. For more in-depth diagnostics, please run those listed here: Hardware Diagnostics

The dump blames tmlwf.sys - a component of your Trend Micro protection.
1) Please run an independent scan on the system to ensure that malware hasn't corrupted the Trend Micro. Here's a link with a number of free scans: Free Online AntiMalware Resources

2) If the system is clean, then please uninstall the Trend Micro and test to see if the BSOD's stop. Please install a free anti-virus for testing purposes - and ensure that the Windows Firewall is turned on once you've uninstalled Trend Micro (never run more than one anti-virus at a time, and one firewall at a time).

3) If the BSOD's stop, then feel free to uninstall the free anti-virus and reinstall your Trend Micro product.

Other suggestions are:
Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Posting new dump file

Hi,

Firstly thnks for your quick and efficient response. As suggested I used SF Diagnostic Tool and created the dump file. I am uploading it. Plz check and tell me the error. I have also looked thru the list of drivers you said I should update. Can you suggest how I can uninstall some of them? Recently I had trend micro anti virus on my comp. I didnt have the password for it as the company installed it on my laptop, so i just deleted all related files of trend micro.. later i installed windows 8 and its inbuilt microsoft security essentials.

Plz tell if i made a mistake and how to solve it. Thank you.

Have you had a BSOD since you deleted the Trend Micro files? Please don't delete any more as it may give you difficulty booting your system. If needed I'll provide additional instructions on how to safely remove select drivers.

Please click on the links for each of the files that I suggest that you update - they will have further information at the link that will help you update the drivers.

OK, if that's the case, first try this: Uninstalling Trend Micro program using the Diagnostic Toolkit

If that doesn't succeed, then we've gotta go in and remove the offending driver manually. Here's how:
1) Create a Restore Point using System Restore
2) Create a Repair disc by going to Start...All Programs...Maintenance...Create a System Repair Disc
3) Test the System Repair disc to make sure that you can get to the System Restore entry when you boot from the disk (you may also want to try actually using System Restore to make sure that it works)
4) Download this free program (Autoruns for Windows) and use it to disable any instances of tmlwf.sys that are starting (or any other Trend Micro entries) (DO NOT DELETE - only disabled by removing the checkmark in the left hand column)
5) Check in Device Manager (to include showing hidden devices from the View menu item) and ensure that any instances of tmlwf.sys (or any other Trend Micro entries) are "Uninstalled" (DO NOT DISABLE THESE).
6) Check in the Services applet (services.msc) to be sure any instances of tmlwf.sys or any other Trend Micro entries are disabled.
7) Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers and rename the tmlwf.sys driver to tmlwf.BAD

In the event that the system doesn't boot:

1) Boot from the System Repair disc and use the Command Prompt option to rename tmlwf.BAD to tmlwf.sys
2) Boot from the System Repair disc and use the System Restore option to restore the system to a point before the changes were made.

Good luck!
