BSOD on Shutdown - SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION

Hello,

I have upgraded from Windows 7 Home Premium x64 to Windows 8 Pro x64 and I know get a BSOD (SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION) everytime I do a "shutdown" or a "log out", but not when I do a restart (then the computer restarts normally...)

I have enabled the driver verification (verifier.exe) as mentionned in another post with similar issues, but I did not make a difference (other than significantly slowing down the boot time and pc in general)

A memory dump was generated from the BSOD, I have attached the SF Diagnostic with the shurtdown and log out minidumps.

I looks like a driver problem to me. but I really don't understand why a get a BSOD on a shutdown and no error on a restart.

Any help / suggestion is appreciated.

Thx,

Marcel

I'm late for work, please start with this:

Win7 didn't like wireless USB wifi devices - so I expect that Win8 won't also. Please uninstall the software for this device and then physically remove it from the system to test.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Thanks a lot for your feed-back and suggestions. I tried to follow them by doing the following:
- uninstall my usb wifi dongle (and removing drivers)
- updating drivers for my graphic card, motherboard, reaktek audio and jmicron raid driver
- update vmware player to a newer version
- remove the garmin ant stick (and removing drivers)
- removed virtual clone drive

The issue is howerver still the same (BSOD on shutdown, not on reboot), I have attached a new diagnostic file

I did add my USB Wifi dongle back after I tested that it's removal did not make a difference, as I needed an internet connection. I also tried a different windows 8 driver for my usb wifi, did not make a difference neither...,

Any futher suggestion is welcome.

I figured out that if I turn off the "Turn on fat start-up", the BSOD goes away on the shutdown. That also explains why it only happened on shutdown and not on restarts.

Any clue how to fix that, otherwise I'll have to live with a computer that boot slow...
