Your Marvell Yukon Ethernet Controller driver was the cause, download & install the latest version
Marvell - Support - Driver Downloads

Antivirus software may also be involved, if the network driver update changes nothing then remove your Kaspersky software and see if that makes any difference.

Additionally run a RAM Test

Plug in the USB stick and reboot your computer, if Memtest does not automatically boot, go into the BIOS and set the USB stick as the first boot device. (Boot device priority on some BIOS)

Not so fast. Consider whether your system is under warranty.
If you can't use warranty, try removing all but one of the memory modules, and see whether your system is stable then. Don't forget to ground yourself to the system, and remove power and battery.

You very likely do not need a new laptop. Very likely one of your modules is faulty, and you can run with less memory. Alternatively, you can buy more memory. Possibly up to 8 gb (not guaranteed to work) if you switch to the 64-bit OS. Samsung R Series R510 Laptop RAM Memory Upgrade
Your core2duo will fly!

But let's not get ahead of yourself and see if we can get you a rock solid system.

Make absolutely sure memtest86 runs without errors all night long (8+ passes) in whatever configuration you use.

That said, update your network drivers NETwNs32.sys Thu Oct 06 16:44:13 2011 (4E8DBEBD). It's old and obsolete for windows 8 and seems to contribute to at least two crashes. Don't install anything old and obsolete
