windows 8 crashing with minidump & sysdata.xml files

Installed win 8 & it starts fine, even works well for 10 - 15 mins.. but then the screen crashes / goes `fuzzy`. i have to then restart & I get the following error codes:

    c:\windows\minidump\110512-47159-01.dmp

    c:\users\USERNAME\appdata\local\temp\wer-64943-0.sysdata.xml

I have un-installed & re-installed graphics drivers, as I thought this would be the problem, but it hasnt worked.

    help!!!!

    Welcome to the Forum
Your reports have generated a code 124, which means this is most likely a hardware problem.

Code 124 suggests hardware, but we have to just try to test the most likely candidiates

Just a thought, if Windows 7 runs fine on this machine (just on another HDD) then surely that rules out a hardware fault? Unless its the HDD itself?

Initially i would have to agree with you. That being said, BC code 124 is quite explicit, it means hardware; can it be wrong?
Yes it can. Is it usually correct, yes?
All that being said, I am here and your computer is not. All I have to go on is the report.
Try to run in safe mod and see if the BSODs are gone.

Yes, it works perfectly fine in safe mode.

I have never seen a 124 that was not hardware, but 8 can be a brand new ball game. If not hardware most likely a driver.
Run for 36 hours and lets see what we can determine.
