Would any one have any ideas, please.
After Clean install to new ssd from xp to Win 8 I can't start up whitout reciving a BSoD saying TDR failure if my Sapphire HD 5450 is in place. Under xp no problems, so the card and motherboard can work together but after OS change nothing. I am forced to run on motherboard vga to run Win 8.

Thank you for answering so fast.
Re-tryed removing, downloading and then installing drivers but no joy. Also tried to use older HD4550 but same problem.

Radeon 5450 and Win 8

I had a similar problem with my desktop. I have an HD pavillion p6200z with an AMD Athalon II x 2 and a Radeon HD 5450 graphics card. I had no sound after installing Win 8 Pro 64 bit over Win 8 RP 64 bit. HP had no Win 8 drivers. RealTek Win 8 driver yieded BSOD on boot. None of the fixes suggested by the blue screen worked until I chose wipe all files and reinstall. Everything works now. Only one problem noted. The reinstall put system files in a un-lettered partition on drive 2. But that is another story.

Removed C++ Microsoft and did complete removal and re-instal of catalyst and got to log on Win 8 whit card in place but then only white lines and black screen the BSoD whit same text. Next reboot causet BSod like earlyer, strait at startup.

The problem still seems to be graphics related. The next test that is normally given would test your graphics card by stressing it. I am reluctant to advise at this point, because it is still not recommened for 8 and it may cause problems.
So lets go the next best way, test for general overheating. Start with a system restore point, in the event the software does not perfom as it should, then determine the temperture when you get a BSOD
SpeedFan - Access temperature sensor in your computer

Unfortunately that prog creates an immediate BSoD so no reports from that.
And maybe I have been unclear I cannot even have the card physicly attached to the motherboard if I want to start windows. And both still worked, tryed my old Xp HDD in the system and no problems card worked fine. Began to think could using ACHI with the SSD cause a problem? Only other change except new OS.
