Blue screen of death after removing intel usb 3.0 driver

For the installation of windows 8, I need to remove the Intel USB 3.0 driver. However, after removing this driver and the necessary restart, I get a blue screen of death and have to reinstate my pc to an older state.
Any clues why this is?

Its very interesting that both OPs joined quite some time ago and both OPs are just making their same "preview" post at the same time today with exactly the same problem. What a strange coincidence...
