My AOL cursor jumps around

Am wondering if others using AOL on Win 8.1 OS have problems with cursor jumping around when replying to email? Have had AOL tech support working on system for more than 8 hours in past week (PLUS many hours in past months) and nobody there can find source of problem. This cursor jumping ONLY happens when using AOL....not any other application I am running. Has been going on for many months. Driving me crazy! Have refreshed OS once and then reinstalled all apps. AOL 9.7 has been nuked and reinstalled several times; am running it in Win 7 compatibility mode, but that really does not help.
