I just had IE 11 totally crash, no web page could load just kept getting notice that the web page could not load Check Internet for a solution and close page, endless loop. I've never had anything like this happen with IE ever?
No Idea how to repair?
I did through Program and features/turn window features on or off I did turn IE 11 off, well I unchecked the box and rebooted a couple of times.
I was able to open pages using Chrome. I have no idea how to use chrome. But I did verify that IE is the issue not my internet.
I have been having lots of freezes with IE I pretty much keep task manager open to close IE when it locks up?
Any Ideas out there.
Oh I had an Reflect Image from yesterday is how I am back using IE 11. But I would think this is going to happen again If I don't solve the issues.

Are you using ABP or any other adblocker? Or are you using WOT(Web Of Trust? if yes try turning them off, because they have not been updated for IE11 on Windows 8, and are not really compatible.

Try turning off all add-ons and reset explorer settings under options>advanced. I use just the basic explorer settings with two tracking filters(Privacy Choice & Stop Google Tracking) and JAVA turned off and never have a crash and flash adds(In-text Adverting) do not appear.

The issue appears that ie as a whole is down. What browser are you currently uding. And again this is on 2 different machines. Also if you check sevenforums, you'll see a post there on the same issue.

Well that's good because a few of us have total crash. And even resetting IE does nothing. I'm currently trying to find way to download a different browser to my phone so I can install it to my pc. But no luck yet.

OK, oddly enough IE is working under Windows 10. Incidentally I'm running Windows 10 in VM on my Win 8 machine.

Anyway It seems that there is some type of issue going on where some machines have experience a total crash of IE on their machines. As I said earlier this is on two separate Win 8.1 machines and has happened simultaneously. It's obviously not network problem because this same machine housing Win 8, is also the same machine running Win 10 in VM, yet IE under Win 10 is working as I type this.

Anyway don't know what's going on but I suspect others will be chiming in about it as well. In the meantime since I have IE running on Win 10, I'm going to download and install Firefox until IE gets sorted.

So there you go. Wonder what the heck is going on? And how is it that Win 10 works, but Win 8, on my machines, doesn't? And no, I haven't tried the TS, but I'm pretty sure it isn't going to resolve anything. Seems to issue is may be external to us.

Uh, yeah I've got Norton on both affected machines. Uh...

Thanks, at least that hlps explain things. Ironically My Win 10 machine doesn't have Norton because it's being run in VM, thus why it's working.

Excellent find, thanks.

See the post above you, that appears to be the issue - A Norton update. So far only affecting Internet Explorer.

I'm so irritated. I was writing a chapter with IE on in the background, I finally had a good rhythm and then IE crashes repeatedly out of nowhere and if I didn't need the protection, I'd uninstall. This is from Chrome and while IE isn't the best browser, I expect Norton to not break programs on my computer. Mostly cranky because it interrupted my productivity.

Have you updated/windows update in the last few hours? I haven't yet. Maybe something there with so many people suddenly experiencing this problem.

See the post above you, that appears to be the issue - A Norton update. So far only affecting Internet Explorer.
Ok good to know I can safely update.

Well, last night I restored an earlier Image I had of my Notebook, IE worked for a few minutes then crashed I would say within 10 minutes. I have chrome running on that one.
I am currently on my main server running IE 11 on 8.1 and IE 11 is working. I got some screen shot describing this issue I'm trying to up load them now.

Does any of this make any sense or give any of you a clue as to what is going on? My set up is in 2 building right now I at my business and on my main WS I don't seem to have the issue here and my Front counter Work Station is also not having a problem.
In my home I am hard wired from the Router here to my home building and using wireless there both my wife's HP 8.1 all in on Touch screen an my notebook are effected. I did shut my main router down and restarted it. and I also shut down the wireless access point in the home down and restarted it.

I Ran a full Norton scan and Malware Bytes full scan only found a hand full of .pup which I deleted

I'm not having this problem(use Defender) but what would happen if you just changed IPSEng32.dll to IPSEng32.old? That#s what the remedy was for the last 2 AMD ccc amdmantle64.dll for a "false" crash.
