Windows 8.1 email has stopped working.

For the past 6 months I have had no trouble with the main email that comes with Windows 8.1, but for some reason it has stopped working this past week, it will not send mail or receive emails.

I noticed the problem after I tried deleting old emails, and then they would reappear after loading the program, in the delete folder there would be multiple versions of them. Such as Amazon recommends emails.

I have tried several test emails and no luck.

It seems to be just that program as my Google mail works as does my student mail, and the internet connection is working perfectly. No settings have been altered in the mail program it has just stopped working. I can use my Google mail in the meantime, but a lot of business contacts or important info arrive through my main email.

Another curious bug that started at the same time is that Windows 8 news will not connect either, and on opening the page it instantly minimizes and won't access the site.

Yes it is baffling.

Go to the Windows Apps Store and update your Apps including Windows Mail App, News App.

Windows updates does not notify you of these.

Go to the Webmail interface to Outlook Mail and use that instead.

Check your settings for the Email Accounts you have, obviously any accounts that don't work, presumably an Outlook account.
