Internet Explorer History all gone.

My wife's netbook came a cropper and she has now lost all her History. Luckily, I took a Macrium Reflect image this morning, but I now need to know where the IE History files are kept in Windows 8 (not 8.1).

I clicked in Folder Options to show hidden files but according to info I got on the web I need to see Inetcache, but that doesn't show.

Where are the IE History files kept please? She still has todays'history but she wants all of it from way back!

"Came a cropper" meaning crashed ? Is a System Restore possible ?

Not really crashed! I ran Advanced System Care to give the laptop a tune-up but it must have cleared out History even though I had unticked the IE boxes.

I did three Restores, going back last 3 days, but none of them recovered the History, apart from today's History.

I can get into Macrium Reflect by mounting it as a drive, but I cannot find where the IE History is kept in Windows 8 so I can't try to restore it manually..

I have looked on a number of threads but nothing that helped. I'll check out your links.

The History files are stored under:
C:\Users\[USER]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\History. Turn on "Show hidden files" and if they are not there then they are gone.
