..... as you can install the icon for another browser. But you cannot install a tile for another browser.

so how you call the Google Chrome square thing on this pic, it's a Chrome Tiles, not an Icon, of course if you means that you can't have a Metro tile for Chrome, it's normal it's not a metro apps. Google and Firefox just have to provide us a Metro versio and we will see what happen.

The article is a bit misleading. Basically, if you want Metro IE, it has to be set as the default browser. When it is the default, there is a big blue IE tile on the start page. If you change the default browser, the tile changes to grey with a small 'e' and it's joined by the tile/icon for the new browser. The other browser players don't yet have full working copies of their Metro browsers, although Mozilla has an early build of firefox available.

Right you are, Calico. The article is misleading and inaccurate. Win8 Preview has no problem installing other browsers on its desktop. Installing another DEFAULT browser on the Metro interface is tricky, but not impossible, as the article incorrectly stated.

Its a load of rubbish. This is a portion of my metro. FF is the default browser. I have both the Metro and the standard IE shown.

Have you checked in Control panel/Default Programs to see which defaults firefox has?

See as under.

Indeed. That's what I see when firefox has been made the default, by forcing through Default programs, but when it's take all the defaults, the Metro IE tile changes, as seen above.

Maybe a misunderstanding, but you can see I have both IE tiles in the Metro menu.

If a browser other than Metro IE is the default, the tile changes, at least whenever I've done this and from what I've read.
