I am still using Outlook Express on a Win XP laptop but I have now bought a new Win 8.1 laptop and installed Outlook 2013 (which is working OK)

I am looking for the most fool proof way of moving literally tens of thousands of emails onto the new machine. This needs to be done with total 100% accuracy because these emails are fundamental to my business and go back to the last century! Some may be needed as evidence in court so accuracy is extremely important

Obviously I will keep the old machine just in case ...

In total there is at least 10Gb of data to transfer and about 2,000 email addresses

I was looking & looking for a resolution for this dilemma. I came across this free download, Home Page - Laplink® Software I was directed to this 3rd party site by no other than Microsoft. Although I had already manually set up all my Primus accounts in Windows Live Mail I still wanted all my saved emails that had registration serial numbers for various programs & such. It failed in that respect because of other issues with my old XP computer. So what I did was delete all of the email addresses I had setup in old Outlook express except 1. I then used the old select all on my saved emails (in groups of 10-15. Then I simply forwarded them back to my self on an alternate address & downloaded them on my new Twobeers Special computer (built it myself). Now mind you all of these emails have a .eml extension, but the reader extension for Windows Mail Live is a freebe. Just click to open one of them and Windows will direct you to the FREE download at the Microsoft Store site. BTW when I tried to export the mail folders to Outlook I kept getting the "an error has occurred initializing MAPI." 6hrs of screwing around with this & that was enough for me. The above worked very well & quickly compared to....................
